santa's xmas electrical problems

Hi and what a great site,
i have a s 320 cdi and have electrical problems as below,
does not open or close doors with key or button
none of the centre console switches work
tailgate won't lock
when i switch the lights on the interior lights flicker
when using the window switch the window goes down in stages
if i have the lights on the direction indicators flash strangely when i want to turn
seems none of the air operated equipment works, rear headrests and so on.

any pointers would be great

happy xmas to you all

Check battery ( load test ) you could also check fuse / relay components for water ingress in engine bay, below windsscreen, it's poss your drain holes are blocked it happened to my w220, fuse box filled with water and gave me no end of problems .

When you changed the battery did you go through the resync process?

I can't do the re-sync, I am going to to make a video a place it on YouTube later.
the fault is that the electrical power is cutting on and off when u use anything. For example windows move about 1 second per switch pull, the high beam right headlamp flashes when the headlights are on.
no locking, and the interior illumination flashes at a rate of 1 per second.

The W220 car are different in different world markets - where are you?

Does the starter work normally?

Does the engine run normally?

Is the car driveable?

Why can't you do the reset operations?

So far, you are not giving us enough specific, detailed information about your problems for us to even make any reasonable guesses...

Hi and thanks, the car starts and drives although no kick down on the box. Temp gauge reads low, fuel gauge reads 3/4 full all the time.srs and abs lights on
lights work but interior illumination flashes I'm waiting till it's dark here to video it.
I've found that the rear Sam has been placed in a plastic bag under the rear seat?
stuck with this as all the garages in Scotland close for 2 weeks until after the new year. I have thought about me recedes Mobil as a last resort or purchasing a iCarSoft i980 diagnostic machine to start with.

Your symptoms sound like a classic water damage problem especially since someone has placed the SAM in a plastic bag. Is your carpet damp? Have you pulled up the carpet to see if there is water under there?

Have you checked your reed valve to make sure that it is clear of debris? It is the grate looking plastic thing on the passenger side of the car near the windshield. Make sure it is free of any type of debris. Also, just pour a cup of water in there and see if it flows out under the car.

update and more info please

Hi an update so far i have replaced the 3 sam modules and srs module, been to 2 indie's and have started to have some issues fixed.
abs was a new sensor and ring clean, but sometimes the abs light comes on but if you restart the car it goes away?
SRS light is down to a faulty seat sensor can some one tell me how to code this out as when the indie tried it asked for a code?
The interior light does not come on when i open the doors if i leave the car overnight?
\if i start the car they work fine?
\i can lock the car with the remote and unlock as long as it's within a certain time, if i leave it for a while the car will not open with the remote?
what stores the memory on these cars and were do i go next.

thanks james
