Headlights issues

Hello

Could someone recommend the best headlight bulb for my 05 S430. They are the halogen ones. So far I'm on my second set and I can only see about 2 feet in front of me. I have to pull the headlight switch to the out position to see any further. I went to a shop to see if they had any idea. They said that I have to replace the whole headlight assembly.

Have an aftermarket hid kit put in
most car stereo stores can do this if you need professional installs

or you can buy a canbus h7 hid kit on Amazon eBay and do it yourself

edit :corrected to h7

You need an H7 HID conversion kit, not D2S. Let me know if we can help you out. We carry high end Morimoto HID canbus conversion kits that will be plug and play

Thanks for the quick responses. Are the conversion kits easy to install or will I be better off getting them professionally done? Also Any recommendations on which ones to get from Amazon? There are so many to choose from and I don't want to get the wrong ones

You can narrow down the search by doing " H7 HID kit canbus 6000k 35w"

Don't try those price lower than $75, try to see the description if ballast made by Japan or Germany. For those ballast made in China, sometime last a few month, sometime last a few years, been there done that !

I found this one on Amazon (55 Watt CAN-BUS HID Conversion Kit (H7 Single Beam, 6000k Crystal White)) It is about $140.00. I also got a quote from a shop that will do it for about $200.00. It looks easy to do, but with a shop I will have a warranty if anything goes wrong

55w burns hot. 35w is safer

If you're going to have a shop do it and they also sell hid kits I would recommend you buy the part from them , and make sure they offer a good warranty

if you buy your own parts , most shops will not redo the labor for free, when the parts you supplied fail

and yes there is a high failure rate

If I was you, I would buy the kit from AZN Optics above. They have great quality kits and been around for a long time not to mention if you have any problems they always there to help you.

I just have to ask - but isn't this as simple as just finding a spot for the ballast and then just changing a light bulb? Do most find a way to wedge the ballast inside the headlight housing or do you drill a couple holes and mount the ballast outside of the headlight housing?

I'm thinking of doing this myself very soon. Seems like I can't see squat at night until I turn on the forward fog lights.

Update:
I was out of town last week and while I was out there I decided to get the conversion done. When I got back I noticed that they are about the same brightness as before. Will changing the bulb from 5000k to 6000k make any difference, or is there anything else I should do?

5000k will be brighter than 6000k

the higher k the Less bright
they become . They turn more blue and more dim

your lenses may be cloudy , have them polished . Most full service car washes that detail cars can do headlights restoration
