A "comedy show" ... don't get me wrong, I watch it every week hoping to catch something cool. And I know the pompous one tries to be funny but that doesn't make him so, not even to the locals. Notice how they rely on heavy canned laughter for the TV audience because their huge in studio audience is NOT laughing (just look at their faces when the all too obvious canned laughter, a mainstay of too many BBC "comedies", kicks in. Perhaps they should play the canned laughs to the studio audience so they will know what's funny too.
