So what did you do, have the kit painted and then put it on yourself?
Yes, I had the kit painted and did all the work myself. Followed a few of Chris The Swede w221 builds and decided to go for it do it myself. Had a lot of fun doing it, and car is coming out great. I believe the w221 is just one of the most beautiful full size sedans out on the road!

Did the paint match? I heard from several shops that they need to blend the surrounding parts so it matches. I just ordered my kit which should be here thursday.
Paint did match well, but then again black is not very hard to color match. Now, what the shop is telling is true sometimes. It all depends on the color of the vehicle (as there are colors very hard to match even having the proper paint codes and vin numbers), and also if the the vehicle was not garage kept it will cause the paint color to fade quite a bit due to the sun. So basically it's just a hit or miss when it comes matching paint colors.. What color is your vehicle if I may ask?
