Owned an Infiniti M35x, Drives an 08 S550 4matic
What is the best color on an S550?
What is your opinion on this?
What exterior and interior color best fits an S550? and does the color option say anything about the personality of the owner?

i have to agree w/ the arctic white, panoramic roof and tan interior. black on black would be my second choice.

off topic, but How was your experience buying the car from an auction? Would you suggest it to anyone else?

it's the only way to go for me - i bought my S600 coupe back in the day that way, CL55 for half price w/ 27k miles in '04 and bought my wife's S550 w/ around 25k miles for $55k last summer (distronic, P2, AMG, 22" wheels on the car). All are lease returns, but it took me months to find one i wanted a lot of looking at vin numbers and auction previews web pages... The two options I could not find a car that met my criteria was ABC and pano roof... I guess finders aren't choosers
Gotta be careful with auction cars. It's nice if you see the report or the car first hand. A lot of **** cars running around at 2nd hand dealers that were low quality auction cars that were made cosmetically nice and resold...

How/where do you goto preview auction vehicles and I thought abc was a standard option on all of the s550's except 4matics

MBWorld Fanatic!
You gotta have an access to Manheim website. Only dealers registered in Manheim have access to it. Friend of mine gave me his ID and i'm browsing it contantly for post-sale reports. Very interesting stuff.

So when you log into the site you actually get to see all the info and see pics of the car? So can ya tell me how much an 07' sport and pano costs now?

For pre-sale report - you can see car's model, VIN number and ( most important ) who's the seller of this car. I'm not a dealer, but I think you wanna see seller MB Financial services, which means this is lease return.
Now, knowing VIN# you go to your nearest MB dealership and run report to see all data for this car ( options and service history ). There are not a lot of S's on auctions, so you choose couple cars that have options you want and trying to buy them if you like it in person.
This is how I understand this process. I'm leasing, so I never did this way. May be somebody else can guide you better....
