Hello everyone,

Im looking for the AMG badge "Gold" for the trunk of my 08 S550. The previous owner installed the christian fish and took off the amg emblem. I can find the chrome ones fairly easy but cant seem to find any gold ones. Any help would be appreciated.

Seriously, if you have an S550 with the AMG sports package, there was no AMG badge on the trunk from the factory as the "upgrade" is purely cosmetic.

AMG models delivered with the AMG trunk badge (S63, S65) have extra high performance engine, exhaust and other components, including modified front and rear skirts. The rear skirt has to be different to accommodate the quad exhaust tips, the front has additional air intake slits, so it is easy to tell a "fake" from a true AMG.

Just to let you know, many board members consider it bad taste on adding the AMG badge to normal vehicles, but , hey it's your vehicle.

Lol. The S550 is not AMG. lol, I hate seeing cars that are not AMG with AMG badges.. What if a real AMG pulls up next to you? SMH

While I agree, I'd like to point out that many of us actually have "AMG" stamped on our rims! Does this mean we're factory posers? Probably not.

I wouldn't try to replace my 4Matic badge on the trunk lid with an AMG badge, but that is me personally.

I used to drive a 1989 BMW 750iL , which had a V-12 engine . I bought the V-12 badges from the Mercedes-Benz parts department and mounted them on my C-Pillars. Does that mean I was trying to pass my 750iL off as an S600? Nope, just liked the V-12 badge!

To each their own. As long as nobody else is "modifying" my cars, I could care less. If I saw mis-modifying in public, though, I'd chuckle.

Completely different. Having AMG parts stamped is fine since they're, well, AMG parts!

I don't think I need to say why AMG badging a non-AMG vehicle is heretic. Saw an AMG badge on a red Bentley Continental GT the other day!

I notice lot's of car's are putting AMG badges on their cars. Saw a car on the parkway with a ML60 badge.. Took me a second to realize there is no such thing as ML60..

It's actually quite silly, since most of the people who can appreciate that AMG badge would immediately know that it doesn't belong on the car. If you really want to make an "impression," you should go with that MERCEDES-BENZ one.
