Engine jerking/stalling and coil light re-appearing.

Engine jerking/stalling and coil light re-appearing.
My W221 S320 Cdi runs amazingly well. However on two occasions, while the engine was relatively luke warm, I felt it was about to stall after trying to accelerate at around 40mph. Is this a misfire? It jerked a few times and then as I let go and then accelerated again it was fine and perfect for the rest of the journey. IT has happened twice and I have no idea. I felt like it was stuck in gear, and perhaps was something to do with the way I accelerate. I am not used to automatic cars.
Also mid-journey the coil light re-appears for a minute and then goes.
The car itself has been fixed by MB, and all the faults on the diagnostics were fixed, such as a new fuel injector. They said the car needs a good run and it will be fine.
You gentleman seem to know more about these cars through years of ownership so perhaps could give me some insight.
