A body shop just installed the FL S63 full kit and LED headlights on his customer's car. Of course the customer is extremely happy!

Yes. I am building radar sensor holders from a old bumper right now. That s the only goor way to do it. A problem if you have distronic since it looks different on facelift.

Chris when you cut out the old brackets did you place them on top of new brackets with expoxy? Did you have to cut the inside of new bumper also? Or just glue on top of existing bracket?

You had to take away some plastic to make it fit straight on. It sits on top of it with pop rivet. You can also glue ofcourse. Added a pic of it not attached yet..And remember that you destroy the use of the old bumper since these insides can not be bought separatly.

Depends on the weather
I am just concerned about the bumpers fitting correctly since reading posts, it looks like there are sensors that mount in the bumper, which the mounting locations are not in the facelift bumpers?
So the grille that I got from Gary will not work then?
My main questions are:
Do the sensors in the oem bumpers have mounting locations that are not present to mount them in the facelift bumpers?
Can I disable the distronic permanently?
If the sensors mount in the new bumpers with out doing all of the extra stuff that Chris had to do, I dont care about buying an oem grille, that is fine. I just don't want distronic errors popping up, so disabling that will work just as well.

I dont mind buying a new grille, that's not a big deal. I can disable distronic via the menu correct? I'm not home so I can go outside and check but I just read that. I don't use it anyway...

Yes, I believe you can disable Distronic in the menu. This would be a stop-gap until your get an OEM grille.
I've read several posts where the after-market Distronic grilles don't allow the Distronic signal through, thus it gives off errors. It has something to do with the plastic or paint used in it. Those grilles are from China, so likely it's painted with lead paint and not letting the signal pass through it. I haven't heard of any errors with the Parktronic system with those kits...probably because they don't come pre-painted.

Do you know if sensor mounting is an issue from the oem bumpers to the facelift bumpers? This is my main concern.
Yeah, I read the plastic plates can be changed but I don't see anywhere online that sells just the oem plate so I could just get the oem 2010+ grill whenever so that will be fine.
