Ok fellas here is what happened today, I took the motor out of my original mirror and placed it in Chris's mirror and the controls for up and down are backwards but side to side is fine, but no memory still, so getting motors replaced is out, I plugged in my original mirrors and everything worked so now the mechanic wants to swap out the motors and wiring harness, he showed me that the screws fit around motors when you put them in Chris's mirror housing, but the wiring is a lil tricky cuz the led wires on bottom he wants to cut and rewire with original wire and the folding wires have to be cut and rewired with original wires, it makes sense if you swap out motors and cables and they do fit in Chris's mirror housing then why wouldn't it work, so that's my fix

I have tried this as well of course but motors sit in different angles. So to do this you (as you say) must transfer the hole old cable set. When you say NO memory. Do you say that the mirror dont even move when you hit the memory button? That is a new fault if so.. And IF the ONLY difference is up and down you should only have to switch place to those 2 stifts in the conector and it should move corectly.

When you hit the memory button the drivers side mirror shoots all the way up, And when you try to move mirror down it goes up and when you try to love mirror up it goes down, if you swap out the cable it should work, the cable can be swapped but it's lil time consuming

I know they sit perfect. Just not in the same angle. I did this on my mirrors and they went totally crazy when I hit the adjustment buttons..The blue conector is further away and so on. But if he can make that work its is SUPER great. Let me know and if these is any little itme in the shop you are intrested in I maybe can give you something as a compensation for all troubble.

Ok, he says he is going to do it I will let you know what happens, part number to wiring harness is 2215408507 and the mirror motor is 1718201042, they have mirror motors on eBay but dealer has them for lil over 100 dollars each and the wiring harness is 55 dollars each in dealer do looks like a 300 dollar fix which I'm ok with as long as it works, I ordered it because it makes no sense to take it out of my oem mirrors where I can sell my oem mirrors for more

You could also do it for free if you reuse your old parts...Here the old mirrors would be totally nonsellible..But maybe different over seas...I gladely help with parts if needed. Even though I think the factory in China should.

Chris you should make this right .... have the bad mirrors be shipped back (painted or not) to you while you ship 100% working ones to customers. How you deal with the returned mirrors should be your problem and this exchange should be a no cost exchange to the buyers.

Here we go again!!!!!

Yeah that would be a easy thing if a big company stood behind the deal and they where sold at normal price. Now I sold this as a private person at a price that just covered my expenses just to help out members getting the car facelifted. AND the biggest problem is it would NOT matter if they returned them and I replaced them. We would just stand there with the same problem again and since MY OEMs did not work eighter. Mercedes normal answer is "mirror must be broken" and we know its not,.This is a total mistory and how the h...did I get mine to work WITH the aftermarket motor. This is all SO strange. I could gladely have them sent to me and I could look at them my self and try to make them work but since we are SO FAR from each other and alot of cost in things like customes and taxes the easiest way and fastest way is to try and make them work without that hard rout. ANYONE here that could PM me with the contact info for the China factory? Would like to speak to them my self. I cant ask my suplier for it as you might understand and he would not give it to me since he know he would lose me as a customer to them directly.

AND if we would do this totally by the BOOK and it was a company purchase the trade laws for online shopping says with waranty issues the customer have to pay for shipping to get it fixed. Even when returned for a refund. And this would probebly cost even more than trying fixing them.

Just as I said....You must buy the hole inside wich the cable is attached to. So only option is to use the old mirrors interior.

Ok fellas I got the best fix so far, I got dipping and memories to work 100%, only thing is my controls that are side to side work up and down, and up and down work side to side, but I got my memory to work so all I do is hit driver 1 and everything works and when I reverse my passenger dips and when I drive it goes back up, here's what you need to do if you want to get this to work first you need to install the own mirror motors which are 1718201042 then on the wiring harness from Chris cable the black plug that you pull out of your door the number 3 and 4 wire you need to cut and switch them, that will have your memory and dipping working, mine work perfectly, now all I need to do is find which 2 wires control the side to side, and up and down so I can cut them and switch them. But at least I can get in car hit my memory 1 and my mirrors work and reverse dipping and everything, so CHRIS if we can figure out which wires are mirror control wires and we switch them we are goooooodddddd. The motors are on eBay I seen them for 55 dollars and I seen them for 70 dollars as well, I took my oem mirror motors and did the fix now I just need to buy them on eBay and sell my old oem mirrors

DO NOT CUT!!!!!! Just move the little stift in the conector. in that way you can just do trail and error. switch it and try...If wrong just pull it out again and and try it in another hole in the conector. You get them out by puching a little clip on the stift with a lillte needle. Remember there is 2 different partnumbers for right and left motors.

Chris,

Are you addressing this manufacturing defect with your supplier? If so, provide us with an update as to what they are going to do about it.

It is your responsibility to provide a product that works correctly. You priced the mirrors, we bought them at that price.

This problem is between you and your supplier. The customer is not the quality control point, or the repair facility, for your manufacturer.

While it is impressive that there are people with the skills to rework these defective mirrors it is not their responsibility.

Now you can go off with "your getting upset now" but we don't give a damn about how up set you are, we want what we paid for and that is mirrors that work!
