Suspension Malfunction
My suspension malfunction light has been coming on in the dash on and off for the last few weeks, all 4 struts are the same height and suspension rise works. I dont have a fuse chart does anyone know where the fuse and relay are located. Anybody else had this experience.

My light has come on a few times, each time, the 40 amp fuse related to the airmaitic system was blown...replaced that fuse and all was fine....however, mine would not rise while fuse blown, sounds like your issue may be different...but it can't hurt for you to check that fuse?

To reset, shut off engine for a few minutes, close door, step on brakes and start engine and wait for a few seconds before moving to Drive gear.

JUST GO TO A SHOP WITH A STAR DIAGNOSIS COMPUTER AND LET THEM CHECK OUT THE SYSTEM.

The 40 amp fuse I have replaced is fuse number 56 (labelled "Airmatic" in the fuse list/table). It is located under the hood next to the brake fluid reservoir on the drivers side. There are 4 hex head screws that hold the cover in place and need to be loosened to access the fuses.
(I was on highway during a long a trip when this first occurred and discussed the situation with two dealers via telephone from a rest stop. One recommended that I check this and that was indeed the issue. I would not offer advice if: 1) I didn't have experience or understanding of same or similar issue with my 2007 s550 and 2) It had not worked for me. I agree with cool lagoon that the some very good people are here to help, but I also think many of us have experienced same or similar things with these cars and try to help others, even though we may not be experts or own dealerships.

I just checked the height of all 4 struts again and the rear passenger side seems 1 finger lower than all the others, could this be a sensor or leaking strut. I just had my rear bumper painted a month ago could they have disconnected something while the bumper was off and not properly tightened it back on.

I have the same problem. Amber Malfunction message pops up when I drive and I click "OK" button on steering to dismiss it. No other functional / mechanical issues have been noticed as yet.
Will be curious to see what other find.

Rechecked the height in my garage on straight flat surface and all 4 struts are even, also had my Mercedes Mechanic check on star computer and seems compressor is not pumping at full rate, so he suggested to keep on driving until compressor gets worse.

part number 221 320 1704 and the valve block 212 320 0358 for car that does not stand evenly it might just be the valve block which distributes the air to the strut may not be working properly, 604 where you able to fix your car's ari suspension issue?

MBWorld Fanatic!
These cars are smart, and will diagnose themselves, so when it tells you something you should heed the warning. There is a issue with your system, from a bad strut or shock, to air compressor, distribution black, and frayed air lines. it's anyones guess, until a tech has looked at it.

The air pump just arrived, i got it off ebay for $180 plus shipping.
My Mercedes tech will install it in a few days when he has a day off work, he does jobs from his home on his days off.

Cause:
Score mark in pressure line for right rear air suspension strut leads to gradual air loss. Compressed air escapes at connector of pressure line on valve unit or at connector of air suspension strut. (See picture "Anschlussstueck.jpg" in attachment).
Remedy:
Check connector of pressure line on valve block and connector at suspension strut for leaks using leak detector spray. As the score mark in the pressure line runs along its entire length, a sectional repair will not be successful. If leaks are detected at one of the two connectors of the pressure line, the entire pressure line from the valve block to the right rear air suspension strut must be replaced.
Important:
Please do not perform any other repair attempts or replace any components such as the suspension strut, compressor or valve unit.
