Roll call for 2010-2013 S550 with issues

Trying to figure out how many of us are out there living with this steering vibration problems. I know for a fact that almost every car out there has this steering vibe problem some more prominent than others. I want to get a list together so we can figure out how to proceed with this issue. Please ask your friends and family with the affected vehicles to join the forum.
Also any help from the experts on this forum be appreciated. Please let's not use foul language when describing our cars or different dealerships. Let's try to make this as pleasant as possible. Our goal is to find a solution.i have driven 2 2012 and 1 2013 new cars and they all had the vibes, actually worse than mine.

2011 S400. 2500 miles. Steering vibration persists after more than 10 visits to the shop spanning over 40 days total. Only improvement was after dampeners were added with the new struts as that reduced the road feedback that had compounded the steering vibration

MB specialist has been flown in to work on this. Thinking of my options

Have a CPO 2011 S550 w/18k miles, am 2nd owner and have owned for 2 months/750 miles. Vibrations due to 4 defective Conti tires. Replaced and dealer also replaced control arm bushings (S-Class service campaign). That indicates a pervasive vibration problem with S-Class.

How would you characterize the vibration in the wheel?
Are they very rapid, very short oscillations that occur at a certain speed?

Do the oscillations increase intensity with speed?

Does increasing speed to a certain point null them out?

Do they vary in intensity based on road surface conditions?

Are they limited to the steering wheel or do you feel them in the seat as well?

I'm presuming OEM rims with the factory offset 43mm and OEM spec tires. Note if otherwise.

I have a new to me, 2 weeks, 2011 S550, 43k miles, new Michelins, 19 in wheels, factory setup. I have noticed, once, a very slight vibration at 65 to 75. I characterize it as a what you would expect after the car has been sitting for several days on cold tires, i.e. flat spots on the tires. I did feel it in the seat as well as saw the vibration in the steering wheel. It did not vary much based on speed but I do recall saying to myself at the time, ahh crap, this is what everyone has been talking about. In my case I noticed it when the car was cold and had been sitting for one day. I was at highway speeds within 5 minutes from my garage. Vib went away once the car was completely warmed up.

From what I have read however with most who have this problem the issue never goes away. I have not spent enought time at highway speeds to properly judge this issue with my car. I will on Friday. I have about 250 miles to do on the highway. I'll repost after that. I have been looking for this problem since I read about it on this forum so now I am ultra sensitive, nee paranoid, to any type of vibration from the front end.

I have the vibration too...2011 4matic. When I bought the car, I 1st thought, the wheels needed balancing, but then noticed that a factory wheel had a slight dent from what must've been a pothole. Took it to the dealer and they straightened the wheel...still the vibration was there. I then purchase a brand new set of wheels (20" TSW Mirabeau) and tires...and still the vibration is there!! Took the car back to the MB dealer and they said that I have 3 bent wheels.. I said, Impossible as I just purchased them They also said that one of the motor mounts was cracked and could also be causing vibration... they replaced it under factory warranty. I get the car back tmoro or the next day...I will keep you guys informed. Wish me luck

What was the outcome of replacing your motor mounts and tires? Has the vibration gone away?

I bought a 2011 Cpo s550 in Aug 2014 and from very first week my car vibrate between 60 and 65 mph, car went back to dealership atlas 8 times, finally dealership wrote on the service order that they can't fix my car and I should talk to MBUSA which I did and there response was "repair history dose not reflect an unreasonable or excessive number of repair attempts for any one substantial warrantable defect and/or for the various repair issues you have presented for repair." Mercedes-Benz must therefore decline to repurchase or replace your 2011 S550V.
We filed a lawsuit against Dealership and MBUSA and waiting for response from both.
Please contact me if you like learn more about this issue.

Yeah, you need to get them on an interstate and run them up past 80 to be sure. My 2010 had a vibration on the test drive, and I wouldn't sign the deal until it was fixed. Took them a couple hours but they did fix it.

What's the basis of your lawsuit(s)?

Isn't there an arbitration clause in the extended warranty? I'm pretty sure there is. It would bar you from filing a lawsuit and pretty much kills the attorney fee provision that lemon lawyers depend on when they take a case on contingency. Trade it in and hope the next guy doesn't go over 60 on the test drive either.
