Loose trim on S550
Every one of the three trim pieces on the driver's side of my 2007 S550 has fallen off in the last 3 months. Quite a statement of quality for a $100,000+ car. I've brought it to a body shop to have them re-glued on (lucky I have found them all). Added to that, all 4 cam sensors, motor and transmission mounts, blower motor, transfer case gasket and driver's seat massage control unit have all required replacement; quite a record of "quality" for a car with 37,000 miles on it when I acquired it last year. Good thing I bought an extended warranty, which I would heartily recommend for anyone purchasing such a complex vehicle; that doesn't really explain the trim falling off; maybe it was a drunken German Friday afternoon at the Stuttgart factory.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE FOR A VEHICLE OF THIS MAGNITUDE TO HAVE SUCH AN ISSUE. MAKES ME WONDER ABOUT MB QUALITY MOVING FROM A 7 SERIES.

I've lost 3 of these, I'm buying replacements this spring but I'm not going to bother in winter. Apparently MB didn't do a great job affixing them, but yeah they're cheap on eBay. Well, relatively cheap for MB parts, like 30-50 bucks each.

I lost my driver side rear chrome panel last week during a raining day in the Bay Area. So I am waiting to put the new one on when it heats up.
I know my car is a 2008 but I have had many crazy things go wrong on this s class vs my 2003 which I loved- window modules, radiator, radiator module, sunroof motor all replaced on this 2008 - never replaced one of those items on my 2003 that had 227K when my husband totaled it. I can say the 2003 was certified and my 2008 was not.
I am looking to upgrade to a new car next year. I cant say I will be looking at a Mercedes s class again. Maybe I will go Tesla or Audi -
