Burred Walnut (731) OEM part # for black is 22168032199051 new (MBUSA market), bmwmercedesparts.com $211.77. Open center storage compartment, remove keypad by inserting a small screwdriver at hole in front housing, remove wiring, remove screw in the middle, replace housing and reassemble. Need VIN to supply correct part for interior color match.

Eagleday.com say's theirs are authentic burlwood not an applique!
$114.95 plus shipping. They said they have sold a lot of them with no returns. It is not a snap on. Just a lil more for real wood

Just recieved from Eagleday. Looks and feels good but I was told before I ordered that it was a screw on part by one of their reps. It is obviously a stick on part.

Sent Keypad cover back to Eagleday with no problems.
I just called Mike at Bmwmercedesparts.com and he gave me a price of $175.00 with $9.25 shipping. Here is my confusion...I was told to get this part #221-680-32-19-8L35 for Savannah/Cashmere. Then Mike tells me that the part number should be 8L36 for Sav/Cas. He says 8L35 is for landscape. What is landscape?

I bought the cover only from Eagleday. I didn't like the idea of using two sided tape to hold the cover/shell on. I returned it. Now I am going to purchase the whole unit. Look at ICT's pic above. It will be the cover and the base. I know there is Maplewood, burlwood, piano black and I think one other.

Hmm, can you take some pics of the piece "before", that shows this new unit by itself, and then after? When you say whole unit, it's new keypad too? I'm just trying to get an idea of what the replacement has.

First things first. That interior combo is flat-out gorgeous and it makes me hate you. Also I have a mild to severe case of tweeter envy.
As for the clamshell, it's a cosmetic tweak so my primary concern is how closely the finish matches in terms of color, grain and gloss. Luckily, the basic dark burlwood in the S550 looks pretty fake already, so the plastic applique-style clamshell cover is a spot on match to my eye. Had it not been a good match I'd have returned it and spent more money on something else, but I like it.
