I'm talking about the facelight headlights with the LEDs in the headlight..i.e. the 2010 and up models but now they are showing up on ebay...

For example:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-Benz-S-Class-W221-PLUG-AND-PLAY-HeadLights-Bi-Xenon-LED-DRL-/281255414768?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item417c210bf0&vxp=mtr
Thanks.

I will receive a set from Germany later this week. They have EU-spec., otherwise the same lamps. Made by Depo in Taiwan: http://www.depo.com.tw/ The headlights Fishcake sells are also made by Depo. Not sure about the ones sold by asianbodykits. I've been in touch with both of them, and Fishcake gave me the best customer support answering my questions.

OK, that is Xenon lights (main beam, high beam), not full leds like those on a W222 or the W212 option.

No, they have LED kits similar to HID kits these days. I don't see the purpose of it. It's not like we care how much power our bulbs draws. lol

I guess if done right it can be bright... see this video of the CLS550 if I'm not mistaken, they're LED headlights. You can definitely tell if you see them in person, the color and different than HID.

I was serious about asking for links to comparison of the W221 pre-facelift vs W221 LED headlights, that show the pre-facelift headlights to be superior.

But your Google search shows HID bulbs vs LED bulbs, which isn't even relevant to this thread.

Hi Jadeethan
Ive tried them but these are very difficult to install.
I have installed them on my G wagon, these finish looks really good and so far no water problems, but installing them is/ was a real mess.
Seems as if no one in Norway can get these working.
These are supposed to get dimmer (20% brightness) when the headlights on, and get 100% bright with headlights off… but alas….

Where did you buy them from? Do they look like the original ones and might fit in my existing light cover?
Could you help me buy one pack?
Tnx

Are you talking about the S-Class W221 Facelift headlights which this topic is about, or are you talking about some sort of DRLs and posted in the wrong thread?

He did mention facelift headlights, sounds more than just LED DLRs. A bit more info would be useful, I don't think fad_rayman wants his PM box filled up with messages.

Without any additional info I would guess some Chinese product where quality is a hit and miss (likely poor but in a rare case could be almost like OEM).

Are the headlights available for cars with different options (halogen lights exist even for the W221, Bi-Xenon lights and Bi-Xenons with Night View Assist).

2008 S550 - Not impressed after 60 days....

I am 60 days post swapping out the OEM Head Lights and Tail Light Face lift upgrade. I had everything professionally installed and everything fantastic until last night. Both right and left headlamps throwing error messages with inoperable LED parking lamps, corning light and low beam bulb. When investigating the outside I then noticed "fogging" and other inside lens markings.

UGH!

Fishcake sez it sounds like resistor problems and they will send me replacement resistors. I sent pics of the internal fogging as this is under warranty and certainly need replaced. Fishcake is forwarding my pics to the manufacturer.

Up till now, I was very happy. It is the inconvenience and added expense I will incur that is not cool.

I'll keep yall posted with outcomes!

Ouch. Looks like someone drew little flower like markings on the inside. Glad the seller is taking care of it for you.

Well... I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but my experience with fishcakes Xenon headlights left a LOT to be desired after they were installed. I purchased a set for my W220 a couple of years ago. The lights started throwing errors almost immediately after they were installed. The shop who installed them is a reputable shop and I trust their expertise. The installer was able to clear the errors, at the time of the install, by starting the car and turning the steering wheel all the way to the left, then all the way to the right several times. I ended up using that trick quite a few times after that. The lights looked good, and "seemed" to be working, however.... about 4 - 5 months after having them, I could see where one Xenon beam was brighter than the other. I took several pictures to make sure I wasn't crazy.. I wasn't. I contacted the seller and he offered to "sell" me some new Xenon bulbs.. yeah right. I declined and ordered a new kit (bulbs and ballasts) from KBCarstuff.. best decision I ever made and that was back at the beginning of 2013. Sorry for the long winded response, but I felt it was my duty as a now fellow W221 owner to forewarn you. Fishcakes products "look" good, but aside from the actual head light housing, the quality of the bulbs and ballasts are complete crap. Do yourself a favor and save up for something of better quality.

Mike

I replaced the passenger HID Xenon Bulb and so far so good! The driver side headlamp unit will be swapped out under warranty less removal and installation expense. I will put in a new matching HID Xenon low beam bulb when the new assembly goes in. The taillights have been functioning fine.

Stayed tuned!
