Rear window shade making vibration noise?

Hello, I have an issue with rear window shade making pretty annoying vibration/rattling noise when playing deep bass music. (I think it's the rear window shade?) I never noticed it till recently and today I took it to the dealer to see what they could do but nothing...

I'm wondering if any of you guys ran into similar issue? To describe this sound, it sounds like cars with ridiculous bass system and making the license plate rattle/shake (sorry I'm terrible at describing things :/)

Please let me know if you have any suggestions, thank you!

Bang & Olufsen (Bass set to 5, don't think that's set too high)

are you sure it's your windows shade or the back dash? My W211 did similar thing, a little foam underneath the dash solved the problem.

If it's your shade, you need to find where the rattle is, if it's a place where you can stick a cushion under then problem solved.

I "think" it's the rear window shade, because when it up the rattling noise minimized but not completely gone. I wouldn't know where to begin since I have no experience how do I even remove the speaker panel? I try to search for it but mostly it's for HK.

I went to the dealer today again and service manager pretty much told me there is nothing they can do and it's normal for it to make that rattling noise due to deep bass... I don't think this is normal and it shouldn't make rattling noise from such a expensive car and sound system. My old Acura TL-S with bose sound system never made rattling noise even with max bass setting smh

I bet the rattle is coming from the metal shelf inside the trunk. I fixed mine but putting in some rubber spacers between the metal and the sub from inside the trunk. Turn up the music. Pop the trunk, sit inside the trunk and listen for the rattle and push up with your hand on the metal below the subs and see of it goes away.

Hey Jason, thank you for your suggestion. I'm assuming you have the B&O sound system too? I didn't get a chance to test it out but when I looked under the subwoofer, I noticed there were some foams that were sticking out of holes. When I get off I'm going to try what you suggested. I really hope that is the culprit of rattling.

Just curious, what did you exactly use and how it's inserted in between? Any pictures by any chance?

Thank You again!

No, I have the HK, but under the rear it's similiar. These all end up rattling at some point, and you hear it from inside. The metal basket under the sub was super rattling and you could hear it from in the cabin on hard bass notes. I wedged in some rubber washers under the sub and it's fixed. Again, to test if this is your issue, push up on that metal piece with the holes in the trunk while playing some sir-mix-a-lot If it goes away when pushing on it, put some rubber washers in there. They don't touch the sub, it's just to add some width to stop rattling.

Yeah, as Jason states, the metal frame is one source of bass rattles. If that doesn't address it, try extending and retracting the shade and see if the nature of the rattle changes. That might help narrow it down. Give me an idea of a specific track that's causing problems and I'll download it and try on my system. (PM me if it's a Broadway show tune and you'd rather not publicize your musical inclinations)

While we are talking about music, this should give you guys a great laugh. If you know this song, which you do, you must play this At least wait to he says "Mercedes".

Haha thanks for the good laugh Jason! And you are absolutely right! Culprit was the metal frame underneath the subwoofer!!! I pushed it up as you suggested and rattling disappeared! Thank you so much All this time, I thought it was the window shade that was vibrating (silly me). Now that I know the issue, I'm going to go back to dealer and have them repair since it's still under warranty.

Thank you all for taking time to read this thread and for all good suggestions
