722.9 transmission, can you replace valve body and using original conductor plate
I am told the valve body/TCU are locked to the VIN on my 2011 S550
I think that I have a problem with my valve body (some gunk stuck in causing unsmooth shifts)
I am going to try to clean it, but if something goes wrong or it does not work, I do have another transmission sitting here.
Would it be possible to use the mechanical valve body from the new transmission but use the conductor plate/tcu (electronics) from my original transmission? This will save getting the new transmission recoded, in fact to save swapping transmissions, If I can just use the new valve body and original TCU electronics, I can do the job without removing the transmission from the vehicle
am still hoping the clean the original valve body, then will have a decent transmission for sale :-), but nice to have a fallback plan in case it goes pear shaped

Good lucky. I just went thru the same process. In the end I had to purchase a rebuilt transmission. My extend warranty would only cover a used/rebuilt trans. Trust me I was pissed.
