I've had my S550 (2013) for a year now and I just noticed that the Amber LED on the right side (under) the Rear view mirror is always on.

I didn't know if this was normal.

It goes off after the car is turned off (a few seconds after the door is closed).

The light stays on while the engine is running.

Can someone confirm is this is by design (normal)?

yes. normal. it is there and continually on to flood the center console area with the amber hue for ambience in that part of the car.

Phew! That makes me feel better. For a second, I thought I would actually have to read the manual! lol..

This coming from the guy that didn't realize his last car did the automatic parallel parking until after he got rid of it! haha..

Percy; same experience on my previous car. Definitely spend a little time checking out your list of installed options and review the manual. I also found out a few things about my E350 after I traded it in LOL!

There is also one in the headliner added for 2010+ that's shines down on the wood rear console

Hi,
My w221 2007 wont start, I tried to jump-start it and it went well but yesterday I wrongly connected the cables, I noticed the fuse (20A) was blown up, I had I new one and connected the car in the way then i tried to start it again and it kept blowing up the fuse again and again,-NOW IT WONT START-
any help please

Just noticed that I have a small faint amber light that does not go off even after the lights do. Super dull hard to see really but if it's very dark (in my garage night) you can see a very light glow coming from behind the mirror where it attaches to the windshield. There is a push button that you can push and it goes even lower but won't go off. Not sure what that is for? Anyone? The car is a 2001 C4
