Well, my car is waiting for a Seat belt and some additional passive restraint components to come from MB Germany. This error code came up while the car was in the shop for the lower turbo seal and the oil cooler seals. Hopefully I get it back this week or early next week.

Mike; Oh yeah, no problem at all. I got the new seals now before the engine got any real hard core age on it. Much better to replace the seals early on than at say 60k, 80k, 100k. I love warranty work early in the life of a car, that has always worked out for me.

These are the instructions that were passed on to me a while back when I asked - dunno if these are complete, so you are on your own with this - I would check with a dealer service to verify they are accurate.
W221 Front Blower Motor Remove/install
1 Switch off ignition and withdraw transmitter Keyless Go start/stop button only for key or Keyless Go start/stop button from the vehicles with code (889)
Keyless Go.EIS [EZS] control unit
2 Remove cover below instrument panel on right
3 Expose electrical wiring harness on
housing of blower motor and
detach electrical connector
4 Remove bolts
5 Remove housing with blower motor
from air conditioner housing
6 Unscrew bolt.
7 Remove blower regulator (A32n1) from
housing and detach electrical connector
8 Install in the reverse order
W221 Combination Filter (I think these are the Cabin Filters)
1) Remove right cover below instrument panel
2) Unlock both sliders and remove cover from air conditioner into recesses of air conditioner housing
3) Remove both combination filters downward out of air conditioner housing
4) Install in the reverse order

had my s class for 1 year. a month has not gone by without me having to take it to the dealers. engine lights, stalling, long cranking, speedo display disappearing, needing to add blue after 9 months and only 8000 miles, love the car apart from issues galore

Orange light. Last time said driving assist fail. By the way its in dealers now as speodo disappeared sunday. Came back on a hour later. The faults are all intermittent, dealer will probably reset and say see how it goes. They did find the stalling issue was a dodgy connection to the second battery.

Did you have the dealer run the warranty claims and service records prior to purchase by car's VIN number? My sister was ready to purchase a CPO GLK350 in Virginia. My dealer in Kentucky offered to run the VIN number through Carfax and Mercedes and found many previous repairs which led to her purchase of a CPO GLK350 , same year 2012 from Louisville. The same dealer sold her a new ML350 the same time last year. She traded a 2007 BMW X5 with an oil leak and a 4000 dollar estimate from her indie.

Good for her, I am glad she was very diligent about getting as much info as possible on a car before purchasing.

Update: Heard a noise, turned out to be a rattling engine cover. Need a new Engine cover. Dealer ordered part, should be in this week - warranty covered.

Ok, i have noticed that on occasion over the past few months, that my car would show the following error "Active Lane Keeping Assist Inoperable". When this would show up, I would turn off the car, and restart, then the system would be fine. this morning, the error showed up and stayed on even after turning the car off and on a couple of times. So I took it into the dealer and as soon as I got to the dealership, I turned off the car and just before it powered down, the system indicated it was "Enabled" The dealer tested the system and found nothing and cleared the codes. If it happens again and I will take it in again and let them take a longer look at it.

OK, another N0x sensor bit the dust, and I am going in to get it replaced. It pulled up a 111800 code "The upper limit value of component NOx sensor downstream of the catalytic converter has been exceeded". Yep another one - NOx sensor

Yeah, I think I need to put mine on the road more than I have so that it gets to stretch its legs and open up its lungs.
I wanted them to replace both at the same time but since it is under warranty - you only repair what is broken/needs repair.

NOx Sensor
Is this NOx sensor that needed to be replaced the same component as the "prem air" device found on other engines? What were the symptoms experienced that led to this diagnosis?

I have no idea what a "Prem air" device is.
The check Engine light came on and so like most cars, that can mean a number of things, plus it is recommended in the car manuals to take a car into the dealer and get it diagnosed. That is what I did.

07-09 are the only ones with 2 batteries, one in the trunk. 2010-2013 only have 1. This used to bother me as I thought I'd want 2 batteries, but they seem to cause more issues. I always felt on the newer car wouldn't have enough juice to run stuff and still can't figure out why the older ones have 2 batteries.
I know on 2010+ if you are playing radio when car is off, it will only play for 5-10 min before the power turns off. Wonder if 07-09 does this?
