I'm pretty certain that AMG didn't produce a Black Series S63. Black Series cars are exclusively two door, very rare and essentially stripped down street-legal race cars. The Piano Black interior trim is a Designo option available across the W221 S Class line. There is no performance or power package available on an S63...the S63 itself is a performance and power package on a base W221
That looks to me like a very nice S63 with a fake Ebay trunk badge. If this will be your first S, be aware what you're getting into. A 63 can be very expensive to maintain and repair. A fresh set of brake pads and rotors installed are around $2,500. A reman'd engine from Mercedes is $37,000. No 3rd party warranty company will write a contract on an AMG car. Really the only way to buy one is MB CPO.
$29.99 on Ebay,,,
It may still be a good deal, but not if you're paying a premium for a "Black Series" car.

according to the VMI its called a
P30 AMG Performance Package "performance package for the S63 provides a limited-slip rear differential and raises the top-speed limiter from 155 mph to 186."
Never seen a CPO with over 50k on them....

Seriously, it's a really good looking car and very tempting but I personally couldn't pull the trigger on a high mileage S63/65. You're a brave man.

2011 S63 AMG Designo Performance P3
The Performance Package also raises the HP from 536 to 563 and TQ from 590 lb. ft. to 664 lb. ft. Also comes with Carbon Fiber engine cover versus standard grey engine cover. This is in addition to what was mentioned above. Performance Package is a $7300 option.

Are you sure that is for 07-09? That info might be for newer.

In regards to aftermarket warranties, I found three different companies that were willing to cover my '05 CL65 with 90K miles. USAA, Carchex, and ACU (Route 66) were the three, but I'd recommend going with either of the first two.

Good to know. I struck out trying to get coverage on an S63 but I didn't try those companies. How much was it and how much coverage did you get?

Carchex was 6K for 3 years and with fantastic coverage. USAA was around $2,500 for one year, but had excellent coverage also. ACU was only a couple grand for 3 years, but the coverage was crap. Obviously lower mileage cars will be much cheaper to insure.

FOR THOSE THAT ALREADY HAVE A 2-3 YEAR CPO... Mike5215, etc...
You can add additional to the CPO Mercedes warranty as well, even after the CPO expires. I would do it BEFORE though, as it's less. This car is done in 2017, but local dealer will sell one year for $2,300 I think and an additional 2 year for $4,600, and we all know we can shop around for that Mercedes price. And, if you buy it now, and say you don't use it, you get a full refund!
Those that have a CPO car that is ending warranty in say 2017, you could buy the extra year now, which it's cheaper now than later, if you don't use it, or plan on selling the car before then, you can get a refund.

2011 Mercedes S63 AMG
The S63 is fast but I don't think you could tell the difference with the upgraded power. It only does 0-60 .1 seconds faster even with the increase of 74 lbs of torque.

Is there any other way to determine if your car has the performance package? I bought my car used and it has that carbon fiber engine cover but the dealership didn't know if it did or not.

Also, there is that extended warranty thread and you can get these at almost wholesale from a few Mercedes dealers in other states, and it's honored at any dealer
