I love the Pano roof...
Over on the W222 forum I keep seeing people complaining about the "standard" pano roof the on the new S class, see thread here. Now, the only thing I don't like about the new one is the body colored strip they put at the end of the roof (it's not all black), but other than that, I think it should be a standard feature.
It's super rare to find a W221 in white, with black leather, with AMG, and pano. Extremely rare, and I love it. If I ever see a white W221 and it has Amg, it doesn't have black leather, or if it has AMG and black leather, it doesn't have a Pano.
Super exotic cars have special edition cars, where only those have a black roof. Gallardo SE model for example, a special edition. Etc, there are others. I think it looks great.

I love it too but I would love to have it in Iridium Silver instead
In light colors, pano roof's glass makes a dramatic effect therefore as your W221's image showed , you can see "wow" factor more explicitly over darker colors like black

I have friends that buy at Manheim and a few friends than run dealerships, and that color combo, white/black/AMG/Pano always brings more than any other combo. There is nothing wrong with Cashmere, but that's what I found to be true after years of looking at these cars, especially 2-3 years ago. I lost 3 cars in that exact combo that were gone 1-2 days after any dealer got them. I will be holding onto this for a looooong time.
Now, let me ask you this. If you had a choice, would you want the 07-09 white, or the 10-13 Diamond?

If the 10-13 has the 19in amg rims like yours, then i would choose the 07-09. I think 20in amgs look better but i like the 19in I have on my 07. The 19s on the 10-13s look small.

being my first S class, I like the pano rook, but from an exterior standpoint, I wish it could have extended all the way like years past, or at least have it blacked out......I like the fact that there are two windows to open back there

Personally I couldn't do the Savanna/Cashmere interior and I found tons of those. Something about the butterscotch dark tone that looked wrong to me. Probably coming from the more subdued contrasts in the 220 Stone or Java interiors was part of it.
Grey looked too light. New grey 13's on the dealer lot already had scuffed up door weather-strip and kick panels.
Black was the only option by default. The only color I like better is the Porcelain (white seats, lower dash, center door trim panels) with everything below in black. Then you get the more airy feel of the light color with the durability and dirt hiding properties of the black where it's likely to get the most wear.
I will say while black is very dour and a little plain looking, it's so much easier to live with than the lighter shades.

Before I bought my 221, I went to see two different cars. One was a non AMG midnight blue with Savanna leather and no pano. Another was a burgundy AMG with pano with Savanna. My 00 S500 interior was that color but was too light inside. I can tell you that the Savanna in the 221 gave a different presence. The environment and smell on both is quite unique. My 07 has a black interior. I have no problem with it but it does not give that feel like the savanna did. I also found that it get's a bit dusty between the seat belt buckle and center console. A good thing about it is that it contrasts with the Andorite Gray Exterior.
About the exterior, Both colors contrasted very well with the interior. However, since I think midnight blue is very beautiful, I do not think it brings out the pano roof (if it had one). Still, Andorite Gray is a very special color and I am glad to have it. Worst combo I have seen is silver with non pano roof or even worse, silver with chrome rims.
