Noise from center console

Hi guys this morning I started my car cold and I heard a rattle sound like a bolt laying on a piece of the hard plastic trim or something along those lines. I thought it came from the front passenger side of the dash. It quickly went away. A little while later when getting back in it it did the same thing for a moment. Now it seems to be doing it longer tonight. Sometimes when I am just stopped and then sometimes when I start to accelerate I'll hear it then it will quickly go away. Sometimes I'll hear it going over a bump sometimes it's gone completely. Well just now I got in and started it and it is actually sounding like it's coming from the center console where the dash and console meet. Almost like it could be under the ash tray or behind the changer. What I don't understand is if it's a fan or a motor or what. To me it seems to get better as I drive then go away. Any ideas? It's driving me nuts and I just bought this car and it starts 4 days later.. figures! The car has 58k by the way. It's a 2008. Thanks!

UPDATE: Below is the link, it seems to really be affected by the RPMs of the engine sometimes, then sometimes not.. Really confused here..

I'm thinking this is either the exhaust or something under the car rattling. The tire shop is going to let me use their rack tomorrow.

If anyone cares the noise is actually coming from under the car and has been traced to the exhaust. When I hit the exhaust with my fist the drivers side cat rattles. Federal law states cats are under warranty by manufacturer for 8 years or 80k miles. Actually the tcm and ecu/pcm is covered under it too. Anyway I'm going to bring it to the MB dealer tomorrow and let them handle it. I assume they should give me a loaner seeing it's under warranty right?

I know its not like your problem but my kid hid his gum pack in my over head sunglass compartment and it sounded like something in the glove box or under the console. I almost lost my mind trying to figure out what the hell that weird noise was...

Yeah I believe it my sunglasses will vibrate in there sometimes and it sounds like it's under the dash. Let me tell you these cars are very tricky with sound. I would have never believed that sound was under the car and exhaust. Would have bet money it was in the dash or console
