Is the only difference the engine and that's it,is a 12' worth the extra cash for a tt?. I found a 11 about 50 miles away everything except b&o sound. . What would I be missing out on if I get the 11. .its a one owner 19,500 miles asking 59k !? What would be a reasonable counter offer that isn't to low.The kbb in excellent is 45 lol. . .

The primary difference is the engine. Whether or not the '12 is worth the extra money is a matter of opinion. If you want the extra horsepower then I say go for the '12. If you care more about design, luxury, brand, and safety features over speed, then the NA engine will be fine. The '12 will cost more because of age, mileage, and engine in most cases. Personally I would go for the TT engine because to me the NA engine doesn't give the car the same get up and go as the TT. I would drive both and make the decision. I'm not a speed fanatic but after driving both, the TT made me feel more excited to drive the car and it moved with a purpose. I felt like the NA engine didn't have enough HP/TQ for the size of the car.

MY '10+ all have UV glass. I think $59K is a bit much but hard to say without knowing all the options on the car you're looking at, mileage, and market in your area. Just putting in the bare minimum options you stated and having none of the other data, you should look to spend around $51K for that car and that's for the 4matic version. The area you live in, mileage, and options all could raise the price $1K-$3K. I wouldn't say MY 12 cars are rare, they just are not always in the immediate area and because they are fairly new and have the TT engine, a lot of them have not been let go yet. They are nearing the lease period for most so you may start to see more shortly as lessees return them.

Oh that's a good point I'm in the Bay Area right now looking at vehicles, the car seems really clean but I woukdlike the tt since it has more horses &torque + better mpg .. Does the mpg really make a difference do you know? I do drive a lot in the city so was thinking it might not be that much of a difference.Nice to hear it has UV love the look and would hate to tint an s550 out lol might not look quality. What would be avoid counter offer after pointing out that it has an "old" engine and such lol I am lookin to pay more around blue book value

Manheim Riverside auction on 11/20, 2011 S550 18,431 miles in above avg. condition sold for $45,000. Private sale should be close to that. At 59K, I would pass. Somewhere between 45-50K would be a good target price.

Hey rich thanks for your input,

Ya I'm thinking of putting in an offer of 36k do you think that is reasonable,it's very clean and owner seems to have a few others cars in the garage Porsches and all, maybe he will want to get rid of it lol. . My bmw is in the shop and need a bigger car anyways beamers r so small lol,it has everything except ABC & B-O sounds. . And not designo 😥 ,but it is black on tan which I like a lot s classes r so hot in black or white.is the tt engines must? I don't plan I driving my s550 like a BMW lol it's so much more classy

The figures I gave you were for a 2012 S550. I would pay between $45K-$48K for a 2011. I would offer $45K. I would pass on a 2011 for $59K. That's way out of the blue book range for that car. I would not worry too much about gas mileage on an S Class. Gas mileage even with the TT is not significantly better. As stated before, the TT is not a must if you will be able to live with a big car that feels like it struggles initially to get started but smooths out once it gets going. If you want the car to move when you need it to move with no hesitation get the TT. Either way, don't be so quick to purchase the car that you take a bad deal. You also have to factor warranty in the equation. Do not own this car without a warranty.
