Debadge & Quad Exhaust

I have a black S550 and would like to debadge and install a quad exhaust like the S63s. Has anyone here ever done both? I'm in SF bay area (East Bay) and would like to see how it looks before I do the simple mod. Will S63 exhaust fit fine or would be an aftermarket like Renntech?

I'm not debadged but I did just do a quad exhaust conversion and an S63 diffuser. I would recommend getting the S63 facelift kit from gary@suvneer here on the forum. You'll get all the stuff you need all at once and the price is fair.

I actually just swapped the S63 diffuser for my OEM piece but it turns out there's more to an S63 bumper than just the diffuser. The OEM AMG S550 rear bumper has a different inner structure and required some creative mounting. If I had it to do over I'd just do Gary's kit. It's just the tips though...same mufflers. I did the Becker quad exhaust on mine.

Since you're car is black, maybe PlastiDip your badging to get a sense for how it'll look.

Here's a nice example of aznevoviii's car with Gary's rear bumper, Plastidip badges and an AMG exhaust:

Depends on the weather
I love the way the quad exhaust looks. Is it possible to just swap the bumpers with an amg sport package bumper (straight swap with no extra hardware needed?) with the single tip dual exhaust and then change the diffuser to the s63 diffuser.

I am just thinking if I want to do the S63 kit or just have the look of the rear bumper for the quad exhaust.

Yes, however the bottom of the diffuser has two locking tabs that correspond to receiving slots unique to the actual S63 bumper, and there are two plastic brackets that hold the original tips in place and need to be cut away where the new wider exhaust openings are.

The top edge of the S63 diffuser snaps in normally, but you need to secure the bottom. The solution I found was to run two short, thin black bungee cords from the lower tabs to the #20 Torx screw midpoint on the shield under there.

I'd recommend just getting the bumper kit from Gary where everything fits.

Debadged and quad look with OEM S65 AMG exhaust. Personally the S65 Exhaust is fills out the rear better. Sounds really nice too.

Which Exhaust are you looking to get?
