If so does the glass make a even more quiet and relaxing ride or is really only on the windshield? Anyone noticed this on their 2012/13

2015 S550
The glass is the same on all W221 models. From what I understand, the poor garage door opener range has to do with UV coating on the glass and affects all of them from 2007 on. It also interferes with radar detectors that are mounted inside the car.

I believe the split screen on the nav was new in 2012. And other than the engine change to 4.6L TT in the 550 and consummate price increase, that's about it. Most changes happened with the 2010 update.

Hey save thanks for your input glad to hear that as I do love the double glass on the CL class,so I thought it might be similar to that, anyone else here notice a increaed thickness in the 12&13 model s550?. Dave would you say the 100+ torque in the TT engine is noticeable at low speed while driving in the city?.

2015 S550
I don't have a 2012 S550, so I really can't say for sure. But I'd have to assume that with all of the additional power and torque with the 4.6 TT in an otherwise unchanged car, it would be quite noticeable when nailing the throttle. Under light acceleration you probably wouldn't notice much difference.

Oh that's good to hear, I don't plan one smashing the throttle down too much in my s550 but who knows after I try it lol,I am thinking of getting a 11' this week any advice on why the 12' would be a better Choice? The 11 has almost every bring except B&O,abc and spit view & designo . . I really wanted designo lol

2015 S550
Advantages to the 2012 are a slightly better gas mileage, more power, and longer period of time under the factory warranty....and of course the split nav screen. But of course 2012 models are harder to find since most are still on the original lease, and are likely more expensive.
