2012 S350 Bluetec

Just curious about any diesel bluetec owners and their satisfaction or dissapointment with their vehicles. I have been extremely happy especially with approx 35 mpg on the road and 24 mpg city. Reliability has not been an issue . I have a Mercedes 2 yr extended warranty in any event only from experiences with previous repairs on my other gasoline Mercedes.

Very jealous in deed.

My 2012 s550 biturbo gets 25 mpg on highway and 19 mpg city.

I've had mine for 2 months. Previous to that it was 3 e-classes (all diesel). I absolutely love the vehicle. It's acceleration and handling fits my driving perfectly. For your fuel economy, are you using the computer or calculating it based on miles driven and gallons used?

I get 29.2 mpg overall calculated. I have not driven far enough to refuel and get a good hwy only number. Though I must confess with the ride being so quiet and smooth, I do cruise at 80mph so fuel economy could probably be better then I get.

I have had my car since May. I have been able to get 33 mpg at a good clip, and 26 in the city. As far as reliability, you might be interested in reading this thread:
https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...ferrerid=60539

You also want to review some of the S550 threads on reliability as excluding the diesel the rest of the car is essentially the same and the issues the posters are discussing are ones that could happen to the S350 BT 4M. There is a lot of good repair info on this forum and that info will save us all a lot of $$$$. However, I do think the car is pretty reliable from what I have seen in this forum and other forums including the international ones.

If I make the jump from e class to S class I am leaning towards an S350.

That is what I did. The S350, is only slightly slower to 60 mph than the E350, and I do believe ungoverned the top-end is higher. The torque on these oil burning beasts is really great too. My choice was between an E550, a S550, or a S350 BT 4M - I went with the oil burner. It is deceptively quiet, and it a lott of fun to drive. 700+ miles on a single tank too.

Another thing I noticed is that the respect you get in an S is much greater than you get in an E.
