I don't have one. Lowering in the past has caused me more trouble than the look was worth. It's the LoMo M1 and I believe it runs around $1600.

I honestly think there is very little if any difference as far as reliability goes between the S550 & S63. Regarding maintenance, brakes will cost a little more and you'll likely run through more sets of tires, but everything else should be similar. ABC is standard on the 63 and optional in the S550 and that will cost more than the regular air suspension if you run into troubles with it. I wouldn't be scared of going with the AMG.

My credit union charges the same price for warranties for all S-class RWD cars, including the S550, S600, S63, & S65. I guess they figure that reliability is comparable across the entire line. If you can find a fully documented and serviced car with low miles, don't be afraid to jump all over it. Warranties can be had for reasonable prices with low miles, even on the older cars. Shop your local credit unions for a warranty as they usually offer great coverage at prices that are a fraction of what others charge. It's worth bucking up for a lower mileage car as the warranties are significantly cheaper (especially under 35k miles) and you can get much longer terms.

I won't have a non AMG 221 out of warranty either, so I guess for me there's not much of a distinction. Maintenance and repair cost on anything added in by AMG has to be even more brutal than the regular stuff.
