I'm talking about the blind spot feature where the mirrors light up with red triangle to tell you when someone is in your blind spot, etc... Wondering if a retrofit is possible and not too involved? Chris The Swede or anyone else?

Possible but a lot of work. New mirrors, short range sensors inside the bumpers, blind spot assistant module. Programming. Most difficult part is wiring harness that goes throughout whole car from rear bumper to the front bumper to the mirrors.

I looked at it in my former 2010 E-class and decided to trade it in on a 2012 E-class with the feature already on the car - it was too cost prohibitive on an E-class so you know it has to be a lot more on an S-class.

You right Nuru, only one short range sensor is $475, and you need 4.

And then you have to install it or better yet get it installed.

Nevermind Thanks for the info. This should be a standard option! It's only $800 option from factory when new, and saved my *** on the loaner 2015 ML I had. It's a safety thing that really should be standard.

Nah....the only time you'd need it is if you're driving in a neck brace and can't turn your head.

Mobileye , the company that manufacturers lane departure and park assistance for OEM has an aftermarket kit that has a sensor that installs behind the rear view mirror. However, the visual is a round led system that installs somewhere on the dash where you can conveniently see it. Not perfect, and is priced by installers at around 1500 dollars. I agree, go to a chiropractor and loosen up the neck.
