U71 - DVD player option

What exactly does this mean on the data card? U71 - DVD PLAYER W/REGIONAL CODE 1. Does this mean there is the capability to play a DVD movie in the car? And if so, should there also be an indication for Split-Screen?

Someone please clarify. Thanks.

Region 1 just indicates that it is coded/designated to play North America/Region 1 discs. If you're looking at the factory data card, I believe the Splitview is 867 (Front Passenger Entertainment).

I don't think you need Splitview to watch a DVD. But without Splitview you can only watch a DVD while the car is in Park ???

So what you're saying is that it's setup to play that region but is not necessary available to view unless the Splitview (867) is included?

See Bills comments above. You can play DVD while stationary. Splitview enables the passenger to continue viewing while in motion (polarized to only the passenger side).

If you're looking to keep the DVD playing without Splitview, you can always add VIM--talk to Jason about that.
