Hi-tech electronics

I recently bought an '09 S550. Can't get Satellite to work. Also, I just learned that the Bluetooth needs a "puck" (which was missing when I got the car). Any hints on what I can do?

You can find Bluetooth puck for sale on ebay.

Satellite radio was an option for your model vehicle.
An easy way to get to it if you have it is to press the steering wheel button under your right thumb and say "SAT RADIO"

If you have the option, it will bring up the display. If this works, you should be able to find your radio id code which is needed to activate a Sirius radio subscription.

I'm not sure yet what I'm going to be doing. First I want to see if I can get the dealer who sold me the car to cover some of this unexpected expense, also I was told that one of the wires has been severed, so even with a new puck, that would need to be repaired before the bluetooth would work. And I'm trying to get either Sirius or Mercedes to assume responsibility for the radio - each is telling me they're good & the other is at fault. Unless someone can give me some good hints, I may end up going to a local mechanic who specializes in German cars. Stay tuned.

I did take the car to a Mercedes dealer in the next town. They quickly looked at it, decided that one (or more) wire(s) to the receptacle for the "puck" were severed, so buying a new puck only wouldn't accomplish anything. They also thought that maybe the radio needed to be re-programed before it would accept the signal being sent by Sirius. They wanted to charge me $160 just to find out what might be wrong. I decided not to do anything while at the dealership. I do need to come back in a week or so when the 2nd key that was ordered is rec'd so that both keys can be programed with the Keyless GO system. I'm thinking of taking the car to a local garage specializing in Imports/German cars to see if they can do me any good on the radio & Bluetooth.
