Merc w221 S600 Misfire
Hi. I would appreciate some assistance advise before I drop the big buck.
I have a 2006 W221 S600 V12 Merc. While excelerating the car suddenly lost power and I limped home. Took it to mechanic and error codes P0300 - P0306 and P0309 coming up. Misfiring on cylinders 1-6 and 9. Mechanic changed all spark plugs and re-ran diagnostic. Cylinder 1-6 still misfiring, but 9 has cleared.
I immediate thought was coil pack, but mechanic is convinced it is the ECI Ignition System mains unit (N61).
Any thoughts on getting certainty before I drop any wasted bucks on this?
Michael

Excuse my ignorance, but where could I find this MB Das you refer to? I am not a mechanic and unfortunately, the mechanics over here seem to be guessing what the problem is without proper diagnosis. So it is going to be a case of the blind (me) leading the blind (my mechanic) . Need as much held as I can get

Best is to get someone who knows what their doing ; even if you get a Das-Xentry ,you still have to know how to operate, interpret the message and then physical repair.
This repair is farly impossible to be done by just any fantastic mechanic without the proper diagnose tool ; they need to know their way around in these rolling computers.
If you're more technically inclined ,I'd get a star clone from China and teach yourself how to use it etc.
I find it really interesting to see how many different systems all interoperate on a microsecond pulse for the purpose to propel yourself with great power with this wonderfull machine on wheels .
