Noisy V12 2007

Ok, guys, I need help!
I have a 2007 S600 with over 100k on the clock, which has developed a ticking noise from the left hand side of the engine at tickover/idle.
I am not sure if it goes when revving the car, as I can't hear over the general engine noise.
Do these motors suffer from any particular problems? Lifters maybe?
It has had regular oil and filters, so don't think it needs that.
HELP, it's driving me mad.

I've had several V12 currently have 2007 CL600 I've never has any issues like that. My recco is to take it to shop ASAP, its always better safe than sorry when it comes to your engine particularly the V12.

How long have you had it?

Could it be coming from the ABS unit, rather than the engine itself?

Hi. Sorry for delay in reposting, the system would not let me on. Thanks for your replies.
No, the noise is definitely from the top end on the left bank.

Get a mechanics stethoscope and listen carefully. If the sound comes from front of engine it is most likely an accessory bearing or an accessory itself. If you are sure it comes from the head - it is prolly a stuck lifter. Those engines are made to run hard and if not done so will clog up. It could also be other more expensive things, but that is very rare with the v12.

its probably the purge valve vibrating and resonating against the cyclnder which the pipe runs on. common stuff.
