I bought it. It is OEM--came from Canada. I thought about buying another, stripping the finish, and refinish it some other way. It's on not on the top of my priority list though. I had a true German market V12 BMW (another unicorn and another story). It was all graphics and I liked it that way. Since the M-B controls are already mostly graphics, the button is a better match. The new button does confuse the car wash people sometimes....

For those who are ignorant: In markets/regions where there are multiple languages, most controls are labeled in graphics rather than words. I believe the Start/Stop labeling is a U.S. DOT requirement. This is why the controls for most European cars are already graphical. Cars from domestic makers destined for U.S. market, especially older model years, you see more word-labeled controls. In Canada, M-Bs have the graphical button that you see in the OP.

Hey Snowman, that headphone button is a very nice mod come to think of it....while being very individualistic at the same time. But have you considered adding some serious power and improving your gas mileage at the same time? Here's something to get you started:
