Question please about using an iPod 4
I was wondering, if I bought an iPod 4 and left it in the glove box of my 2014 CL 600 attached to the audio/video cable. Would I be able to have full use of Pandora and also be able to play videos as well? As of now I have to download videos to a disc and play them that way. Id rather just download all my music and my videos to the iPod 4 and play and watch them from the dedicated unit left in the glove box. Will this work like shown in my brochure?
How does the Pandora work? Do I just download it from the App store and just play it and control it from my head unit and the joy stick?

So even though the brochure says it plays MP3 and MP4 videos with the technology option on the for the CL doesn't work ? It has the video cable that came with the car

It may work over the 30 pin jack, but it will block the video output unless the car is in park (although the MidCity VIM will bypass that). Or it may use a specialized 3.5mm AV cable. Does the tip of the cable have 3 segments separated by black rings? Are you looking to play downloaded YouTube music videos?

I do not think you can transfer video over from an iPhone/iPod unless you have some hdmi converter etc. wish it was just plug n play but I doubt that.
On another note, you could always mount an iPad to the console and run the connector to the glovebox . No but if you figure this out let me know because I've never heard of such a thing working in a vehicles hard drive based DVD/ nav unit.

I think you can via the Apple 30 pin connector and an IPhone 4. With the iPod connected and videos stored in the video section of iTunes, you should be able to go to the Video menu in COMAND and select the device.

I believe that is exactly what the brouchure is telling me but do I need the MIP? Or just and Ipod4 or an iphone4 with MIP and just leave it plugged in the glovebox? Leave it as a dedicated phone for the car?
