4Matic Sport/Comfort Mode....

Need some help understanding the difference between sport modes on dash and armrest. So I see where there is a button on dashboard which changes from 4Matic Sport/4Matic Comfort and there is a button I can press (E/S) in middle console that changes the car mode from Sport to Comfort. I am completely confused on what the difference since it seems like each button does the same thing........ Thanks for any help!

One controls the firmness of the suspension damping (dash), while the other controls the trans shift logic (console).

+1 what he said
I always keep the suspension in sport mode because the handling is superior and the ride is lowered. Plus coming from a 7 series you have to, it's the only way to come close to the handling of the bimmer. Also it never changes out of this mode unless you change it, the tranny sport mode automatically reverts back to Eco or comfort when the car is turned off.

Good to know! Thanks for the explanations! I love using the sport mode for transmission around town, car just gets up and goes!!!
