What are the pro's and cons of doing this $2700 ECU upgrade? I'm mostly interested on the negatives.

Depends on the weather
Warranty will still be good. Dealer won't know you have an ecu tune unless you tell them or there is an issue with something related to your ecu.

Loss of warranty, coil packs burning out a little quicker, and cost. Renntech is crazy expensive. You can get the same results for less than half that much through Eurocharged.

You won't loose warranty, there is no scanner tool to detect ECU upgrade.

Depends on the weather
^ Correct. No dealer will know you have a tune unless there is a specific issue with your ecu that you have them working on or something related to it or unless YOU tell them.

Just went and check out RennTech. I had never heard of them. (I'm new to the German import world). DAYUM, they're expensive! $2700 for 100hp is not a very good ratio. I can tell me car modding is going to get expensive!

Good on you, though. I'd love to see some dyno slips.

Like I mentioned earlier, check out Eurocharged. Same results for less $$. Eurocharged.com.

RennTech is an absolute rip off! $4480 for a pair of stainless steel, ceramic coated headers?!?! Come on, you would have to be a fool to buy this crap! Shouldn't be a dime over $600
As far as chips go. Eurocharged offers more dyno proven performance for the s550 for $500. Much better than Renntechs $1500 price tag!
