Rear entertainment and trunk/boot closer
Hi all,
I'm new here and still new to merc ownership. I'm in the u.k and just wondered if anyone can help me? I would like to fit rear aftermarket screens/ dvd players in my w221 2006 with ntg3 I would like it to be able to play the t.v from the front and the dvd from upfront but then still be able to play dvd's independent i.e. one play one movie and the other play another one. I want the sound to come out of the fitted speakers if they are all playing the same thing but headphones if they are playing independent.
Is it at all possible ?? and has anyone done it ?? and what was required??
I also want to fit a boot/trunk closer and would like to know if this is possible and has anyone done it and what is required ??? (bet its not just as easy as fitting the close button lol).
Thanks for any help.

I don't know about trunk, rear tv' possible to do, you just buy a rear entertainment kit from MB, but the way you want it to work you need to have video in motion unlocked and pull some avi cables from the navi to rear tvs, which you need to take apart and solder to the input. If you are good with electronics it can be done but takes lots of time. I have done mine, it was difficult and took half of the car interior apart to run wires...

Thanks for the reply. When you say taking apart and soldering which part ?? Does the command unit not have rear aux output's then ?? As for the video in motion that's a big no no over here my friend. Is the MB kit really expensive ?? because I have seen lots and lots of rear monitor kits that are not to bad on price just don't want it to look bad.

I bought mine for $1200. The way you want it to work, navigation unit and one of the rear monitors needs to be taken apart and connected together via avi cable
