recommended indy in Tampa area?
Possibly the hardest part of leaving Northern California was leaving my mechanic behind. Anyone living in the SF Bay Area should do themselves a favor and see Erich at Precision Motors in Oakland.
Recently my '09 S550 has developed a difficult to describe issue. When there is a load on the engine, there is a sound that can best be described as being similar to a motorboat engine. It's more apparent on a cold engine, and still present, but less prominent when the engine is at operating temp.
If I rev the engine in neutral the sound is most obvious around 1500 RPM, and it seems to get louder (for a moment) after going over a dip in the road when downward pressure would be applied to the rear suspension.
So... any suggestions on a good independent in Tampa that could take a look at this? And any ideas on what the cause might be? Currently at 70k miles, and I have detailed service records from new. No service intervals have been missed, and no past issues.
Thanks!
