Replaced Control Arms led to Airmatic strut...

I have a 2007 S550 (W221) and I am having a few issues. I recently replaced the right upper and lower control arms to get rid of this clinking sound (every time I roll over a bump/crack in the road) that I have been hearing over the last few weeks. I had to disconnect and remove my front right strut in order to complete the remove/install of the control arms. Currently, my whole right side of the vehicle is grounded as if both struts are deficient. I am sure the rear strut is fine but I am not sure why the vehicle is siting like this. It will rise upon pressing the vehicle rise button. Even when pressing the vehicle rise button the drivers side is still higher than the passenger side. To make matters worse I still have the clinking sound which is most likely coming from the front right strut. Any Ideas what the solution may be?

Sounds like the strut may be leaking or perhaps you tweaked the level sensor bracket during repairs. I'm willing to bet your noise is the sway bar bushings to the subframe. Remove the sway bar links (both sides) and drive it again.

Your ride height sensor arm is probably on backwards.

Here is a pic of the right suspension as I began to reinstall the new upper Control Arm

This is the complete suspension after replacing the Upper and Lower Control Arms and reattaching the Strut.

Awesome...Thanks! I will check the sway bar bushings. Mercedes replaced the sway bar, driver upper and lower control arms about 6 months ago. The vehicle rise malfunction warning came on about 90 days ago. The warning light would come on everytime I approached 80mph then it stopped after I took it back to the dealer. The dealer reset all faults because the system did not store any of the previous vehicle rise malfunction warning codes. Then a few weeks later I heard the knocking noise that led me to get the work done 6 months prior. Also, I notice that when I push down on the right side and touch the top of the strut I can feel a little knock.

Top (L): before new control arm install
Bottom (L): after control arm install
Top (R): before any maintenance
Bottom (L): during control arm removal

All pictures above display right suspension after control arm install. These 4 pics display the current suspension placement. I am trying to determine if anyone can assess the issue outside of a possible faulty right front strut.

Concerning your level issue I would also check the small air-hoses at the lower side of the struts as there has been work done in that area .. Their quite fragile, I found them rather in the way.

Ok I will look at them as well. I tried to steer clear of the wires and hoses during removal/install but at this point anything is possible. Thanks for the reply and insight.

Thanks Everyone for all the assistance and support. The issue was the right front strut. I ordered one from Arnott and installed it without issue. It pulls a little to the left so I'll get an alignment here soon.🔩 👌🔧👍🚘
