For reasons unknown, the inaugural year 221 with the AMG sport package got an actual AMG trunk badge. Just 07's got it, then never again.
That AMG badge never came on any of the US model W221 S550's. Perhaps that was a Euro thing. The last base S model with the AMG body package to get the badge in the US was the W220.

Weird. Maybe it was a Euro thing. I just recall a kerfuffle a few years back. Someone ran the VIN thru Star EPC and the badge was a factory item.
I had two 220's with the AMG Sport package and neither got the trunk badge (05 S500 and 04 S430).
