Depends on the s class. SL models, S500-600 S AMG models all to me drive different. Personally rather have 2 E63 AMG S' than a large S class model.

Yeah, I found that the SL model of the S Class is, in many respects, almost like a totally different vehicle. I can't quite put my finger on it, but the SL versions of the S Class always look and feel much, much smaller than the other versions.

One SL S Class I took out was so poorly built THE ENTIRE ROOF AND BACK SEAT WAS MISSING!!!

WTF Mercedes? That's why I stick to the S500 version of my S550 instead, despite the fact that there's no such thing as that either.

Even the S550 S600 are different. Bring into the discussion the AMG 63 or 65 another different experience.

Really? Different models of the S Class are different? Holy crap! I had no idea this was going on. I thought Mercedes just randomly assigned numbers to S Classes as they were being made, depending on how many letter and number badges they had on hand at the moment.

Like when I saw an S55 once I just presumed they had run out of "0"s.

I've driven a few 221s, namely an S600 I remember, they are miles ahead in comfort than other models, in general from each chassis or era, they S class is always nicer to drive. Hell. Even my W126 500 SEC with hard sports suspension and race camshafts is more comfortable than my W204 C200. Weird but true.
