Rule on the viper if you get one, throw away the tires as soon as you get it. The old dry runflats that came on them weren't good when new and certainly not good old. I have super sticky nitto half drag radials on it. Cars an animal.

Depends on the weather
Oh I know. I have brand new 1700.00 Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar EMT runflats on the vette they just mounted. I hit 180 the other day and they broke loose a little bit around 130...in the cold they are the worst...up for the winter now though. Grip great when warm and dry but wet/cold = no bueno.

Yeah...since the vette is not winter/rain driven I'll keep them on until they are done but the tread doesn't last long on them from what I hear anyway....so I know I'll be burning through the rears quick once spring comes and I hit the track, then I'll change to a street radial.

Vipers a diifrnt animal with no traction control, I never had an issue with my vettes even when pushed hard. The viper gets sideways quik.

I only have in the vette when it was cold...when I was down in FL perfect...back to MD and it started getting cold and I would punch it while doing 30-40mph, the rear end would start going crazy and then traction control kicks in lol. Such a light car with a lot of power...cant wait to throw on the SC...boy oh boy, it's gonna fly.
I hope spring comes back fast...I can't wait to open it up some more.

Vipers have had traction and vehicle skid control for the last few years. But prior to that they were nearly impossible to drive on wet roads. But those old ones were a blast to drift around the track.

Yup came out in 13 but mine is the previous gen, actually a gen 3 with no traction. I may get a newer one but would want another convertible. Mines got a whopping 6k miles, I don't really have the time to drive it.

Well, you guys stay safe! Snowing and it's supposed to be around 30 inches here in my area between now and Saturday evening but I'm just outside grilling some lamb chops and steak that I've had seasoning for the last 24 hours. :-)
