Malfunction light

This "Malfunction" light went on. i used the search feature on this forum, and it seems to be a pump problem or possibly a fuse? Any clarification would be appreciated.

I have a feeling it's an issue with the Airmatic.

Unfortunately not.....the 3 month warranty ended recently. I bought the car thinking that with such low miles it would be fairly trouble free....... but not so. since my first post on this issue. I turned the car on and pressed the button to elevate the car. It did go up, and i guess it goes down one the ignition is turned off?? Personally, it seems like nonsense.....having a need to raise and lower a car like that. Some of the cars "features" seem completely unnecessary to me. i am kinda getting a kick out of the night vision though.

2019 S63 4Matic+, 2018 E400 Cabrio, wardens car.
That indicator should be dollar bills lighting up. 9 year old car even with low miles can eat you alive with repairs.

Why do people not just replace the seals inside the pump instead of replacing the whole unit? It's around $50 for the kit?

If you have the equipment and tools to complete the repair, then that's not a bad route. However, installation instructions indicate you may need to buy a replacement aluminum cap; may need access to a press and will need to have it sit overnight to open the electrical unit. Sounds a little more involved for $50 than just buying a rebuilt compressor for $400-$500 and/or just paying to have someone do the whole job and not hassle with it.

I would imagine that some of us would be willing to do these repairs, but at some point, weekends and time with the family are far more valuable.

The malfunction light has not been on all day, so maybe I dodged a bullet this time..... Or maybe I have a malfunctioning malfunction light?
