Installed the new 2016 HERE Navigation disc!

Anyone have any luck ordering the part #s in the screenshot below from mbonline parts?
My order was cancelled from mbonlineparts today with the message: "The part on order IS A DEALER ONLY supplied item and can not be ordered on-line. This part can only be ordered from your local dealer."
These orders appear to be fulfilled through Benzel-Busch Mercedes in New Jersey. I had put a comment in to the order, stating that I had double checked the VIN for the license...but apparently they still would not do it for me.

Yes, I have done the install on my 2014 CL600. I ordered mine from Beverly Hills Mercedes, over the phone. I gave them my VIN and they ordered it and it came with the disc and the product code. It was $183.00 out the door but I have a retail license. If your dealer is willing to discount them for you, they will sometimes give you 15% off.
Btw, the guy that ordered the part said, "You have to have it done at service", in which I replied, "Just order me the disc's and the product key's and let me deal with the installation". He did and it's done.
I bought a friend a 2011 CL550, so I ordered two key's and disc's. I tried to use one disc for both because, as I just wanted to see whether or not it was just a regular disc that could be passed along or if they were proprietary . Much to my dismay, it didn't except the used disc on the second car.

I'm still looking forward to see if there are any material changes on the pre-face lifted cars with this update, other than a few more roads and POI's. Supposedly the COMAND systems are a little different in the face-lifted cars.

I have completed the map update three times on a 2010+ and it's easy to do. The dealer will try to tell you that they need to do it because sometimes there are errors but that's not true. The parts department even thinks the dealer has to do it and will try to schedule an appointment unless you tell them you will do it. My parts representative was actually surprised that I could do it myself. The only thing I need the dealer for is the activation code. The dealer overcharges as with everything else. They charged me $45 for the disks and $204 for the activation code which came up to $266 and some change after taxes. I'm very pleased with this update compared to previous updates.

The interface does not change. The key changes I noticed were the number of POIs and roads. Like CL600 said, roads, neighborhoods, and businesses that are only about 6 months old are included with this update. This update seems more comprehensive than previous updates which barely changed anything. There are more POI icons as well. I have not taken any pictures yet but CL600 did post a few already in a previous post which depicts the new POI icons. It's pretty cool. It shows fast food restaurants, traditional restaurants, dentists, male clothing stores, female clothing stores, train stations, airports, churches, pharmacies, golf courses, recreation centers, shopping centers, and much more.

Hi,
Tried to purchase the new Nav Disc from my Dealer in Toronto, No luck. I ordered and was quoted:
Q6460441 approx. $36.00 US for theDisc (from this site), Part Name is
NTG3.5 V14 my quoted price $64.95 CDN
0000004200 approx. $183.20 US for theActivation Code Part Name is ACTIVATION C, my quoted price CDN $173.95
Service installation CDN $140.00 (was added to this process)
Now the bad news, this was for the 2014 Navigation Update...
Apparently I am told that this is all that is available at this time. Furthermore, I should not attempt to order this disc from a non MB dealer (might cause trouble), and I should wait 3-4 months until the 2015-2016 disc is available in the Toronto area...
Has anyone in Canada, installed the new Nav? and How much did it cost? Thank you.
Jeff

If you look at the disc above it has a V14 but is dated a 2015/16, so its not for 2014. I could be wrong but I do not believe that to be the case. I don't think the number relates to the date. As for your the part's dept., they don't know there *** from their elbow. You CAN do it yourself ! DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM! My parts Dept. said the same thing. I ordered the disc and the code and did it all on my own. As did a few other members, so can you. When you order the part and the disc, tell them you decline having the dealer do it and you spoke to MB and they said, "dealer assistance was not necessary". They wont argue with that, if they do then call the MB customer support and file a dispute and MB will take care of it for you.
Oh one last thing. Ask them the release date of the disc. If it says Dec of 15.,
then it is for sure NOT the 2014 disc.

Ended up installing the Dec 2015/2016 Nav last week. The total cost through the dealership was $388 CDN plus tax...
So far, not really worth it. I get nowhere near the detail and POI's that were illustrated earlier in this thread. My guess is there were not a lot of updates in the software for Canada...
Jeff
PS: The only value from the dealership is the convenience, service, warranty and they road tested the vehicle to ensure everything worked. Took a few hours, and received a car wash and a detailed cleaning of floor mats from winter wear...

Navigation update for 2010s class
I bought the nave update disc from the dealer for $250 plus tax. The guy in the parts dept did indicate to me that it was not necessary to bring the vehicle in for the service dept to install. I verified this with one of the service guys. He did say that it is pretty much just a matter of inserting the disc and letting the update run and the customer (me) can do this without dealer service assistance. I do have a question for anyone that has successfully installed the update. I don't have an "authorized battery charger" so is it ok to just leave the car running while the update is in progress. Any responses will be great!!!

You need a charger!!!
It isn't needed but it does say that the battery could possibly drain down all the way and this would interrupt the update and then you would be screwed. Buy a trickle charger for $19-28 and hook it up. Remember the electronics run even if your not using them plus the screen and DVD unit. Better safe than sorry. I've been trying to tell people this but have met with a lot of opposition.

The ideal method is to use a battery charger that is recommended for your vehicle. This prevents the system from shutting down due to a low battery. If the system shuts down in the middle of the update, you may have a lot of issues that you much rather not deal with at all.
You can leave the car running while you perform the update which is what I did for the 2016 update and the update before that, however, your car will be idling for a long time. Each time, I performed the update after a fresh oil change so I wasnt too concerned about excessive idling. You can choose to go for a long drive as well but you will not have the use of COMAND until the update is complete.

Can you give the part # or indicate what year(s) this update is for? I'm assuming you have a '07 to '09 as the '10 and up can't be done solely by the customer.
