Installed the new 2016 HERE Navigation disc!
What a massive difference. Every single road now is current and shows up and now everything shows up for the POI's. Happy Happy Happy. Took exactly 75 minutes as stated on the disc. They are a one time use disc and a one time code per VIN. Very cheap and easy to do. I paid 150.00 for everything at my discount and no tax. This works on MY 10-13 S and MY CL 10-14.

TONS of new Icons, all streets now show up, etc... and some graphics changes but not the layout of the screen. Now every street shows up. I use 3d and can see like every thing. Before it was just ok. Example now my airport has a control tower and a plane and the name of the airport in the field. The amount of ATMs are unreal, the golf courses now have names beside just a guy swinging a club. The grocery stores show up and the ones that have a charging station show a plug for charging a Hybrid car. I mean its unreal.

Oh, I'm fine with the way it is . If I need anything more I can use my iPhone 6s and mirror it on the screen. I had the video/ audio/ cable moved into the console and use an adapter to charge my phone and stream my music. I really use the USB stick slot, big time and save my disc player for my music videos, since I have the Naviks pick-loc. I'm all good!!!!

Yes, they finally released the 2016 disc. Lol all those people who bought cars before Dec 2015 have earliersoftware. I've been waiting for 2 years my 14 came with 2012 Nav information. What a difference!!! My friend has a 2011 CL 550 and his had 2009 Navigation software. We did his update and you wouldn't believe how outdated the info was. From what I'm told they update every 3 years.

Pretty much just updated maps and a couple of new icons. Your 2007 is different in that you can just buy or rent a disk from another member and install the update yourself. The face-lifted cars require a trip to the dealer as it's a different system. If I were you, I'd wait until you get the car sorted before thinking about map updates. Your car may have already been updated anyway.

It is very confussing
I went to buy a new disc in Aug 2015 and when it came it was dated 2012/13. I wouldn't except it because that was what was already in my car.
I called every month, until I finally gave up. I decided last week to call and they said that they released the new "HERE" for my car Dec 2015. Dated 2015/16 so you figure it out. Here is the latest update.
This was the most comprehensive update I have ever seen before.
It doesn't require going to the dealer. Just buy the disc and the product key and do it yourself.
DaveW68, thank you for the incorrect information, but that is not how it works. Maybe on your older car, but not on these years. Possibly on the even newer cars, you might have to do something different, but I can not speak to something one which I know nothing about.

No sir, they are giving you the wrong information. The W221 and the W216 are the NT3.5 and are set up exactly the same. Neither model requires you to go to the dealership. If they are telling you that then they are scamming you out of money. My wholesale parts man told me the same thing. I told him to order me the two discs, get me two product keys and not to argue the point with me. He did order them and I did it all on my own. They just want the 1.5 hours or work time to charge you for a simple task, that even a 10 year old can do. The only reason I know is because the service manager told me, I could do it on my own. So, your sources are incorrect and the information your giving is also incorrect. Just think about it. Why would they make one disc for both cars and let one car be able to be done and not the other??? Please look at the picture above. Its clearly shows CL 11-14, S 10-13. End of discussion.

Glad that the old cars are easier to deal with but the fact of the matter is, the boards are incorrect. If people want to be fleeced out of their money, "Go with God" but there is nothing different about the procedure, on the NT3.5 version cars (only found in the S and CL).
As per the directions on the inside folder. Remove all discs from the player, insert the 1st disc into the #1 slot and proceed, it will prompt you to input the passkey. Once the disc is finished, please insert disc 2 into the #2 slot and press continue. After the disc has started disc one will eject and finish the installation. Once the installation is complete the 2 disc will eject and the system will restart.
Please note that the key must be in the run position and an authorized battery charger must be attached to the charging system, so not to run down the battery and cause the system to shut off. If the system does, start the car and finish the procedure.
It also states: This disc is for MY 10-13 S Class and MY 11-14 CL Class cars. This disc and product key is coded to the VIN and is not able to be reused. Please place the disc and product key in a safe place, incase you need to restore your Navigation system again, if the system should need to be repair or replaced.

I actually have a business, so I get parts wholesale but you can order the parts online. Just put your VIN number in, so they will not send you the wrong parts. You need (1) 0000004200 activation code and (1) Q6460341 disc. Www.mbonlineparts.com. 36.00 for the disc and 163.20 for code.
BTW, you might be able to talk to your local MZ Parts Manager and see, if he will sell you the disc and product key for the price online. Possibly print out the prices and show him and he possibly will meet those prices, because there is still profit in it for him and it gives them credits for the sales over the counter. I think the price the dealer pays for the disc is about 20.00 and the product key is something like 55.00. So, they are making money even if they discount them for you.
