TPMS, Distronic, Park Assist, Parktronic, Star Diagnostic, and what I’ve learned…

Thanks... Just to clarify, mine is not an interference problem. My 2007 has the radar Park Assist. With STAR, you can activate the sensors and actually see the cm distance to objects. The sensors are fine...
My problem is the rear headliner display/beeper (pic below). I replaced it with a used one and, after working fine for a few times, the new/used one failed too.... I have another on the way...
Anybody else replace this?
Regards.... Mark

To follow up, I again replaced the LED/beeper in the rear headliner. That's the part that was showing defective on STAR. Park Assist is again working fine ...
However, yesterday, I did get a "Park Assist Currently Unavailable- See Operators Manual." I was stopped behind some type of GM SUV, perhaps a Yukon, which, I understand, uses radar too... Went back to normal when traffic moved.
And, I stand corrected. The annoying beeping on start up is connected to the seat belts. I never fasten my belt before starting... (in case there's a fire bomb left over from the previous dictator that owned the car and I have to make a quick exit). Sure enough, no beeps if belt is fastened.... and, the car isn't engulfed in flames! You'd think MB could come up with something less offensive for a seat belt reminder, like the nice lady saying, "Don't forget to fasten your seat belt dear...We wouldn't want to see you harmed in any way..." No? Too much like, "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that."
Again, thanks to all for the advice.... Mark
PS... Still looking for Star Finder that covers the 221...

Yeah, I enjoy the warning sound at a stop light that sounds like my car might explode within seconds if I don't do something...only to see I temporarily don't have distronic and park assist.
Or, if you take her out in 6" of snow, turn the corner doing 10 mph and watch the butt end of the car pass ya you get a little beep and a small red icon on the dash.
You get used to it.

Exercise everything from time to time. Beat on her a little. The car i meant.
The S600 is really a weird "value". The engine can throw the car into 4 second realm. Rest of it is a crap sandwich in regards to the electrics and suspension. You ask yourself, I could have had a Honda Civic for the same price when dealing with said issues.
In short, labor of love type of thing.

StarFinder 2015
Hi All:
As said above, the StarFinder link for the W221 no longer works, but I did find this:
http://blog.mbstarshop.com/2016/04/2...ring-diagrams/
Warning-- this is swatting a fly with a sledgehammer.... Takes hours to download and unzip...Password: starfinder2015
The unzipped download is over 4GB but includes all models. The blog says something like, "some additional applications need to be installed but are included in the package"... Not sure what those are, but if you open file 221, you do eventually get to the "Star Finder Only" for the W221... haven't yet figured out how to use the Web EMT or exactly what it is???
I also found a file that it has the component list, but I renamed it and don't exactly remember where I found it... it's in there...
(For those, like me, unfamiliar with it, StarFinder gives you pics of where each part is located... But, you need, I think, the component part designation, (e.g. A2/49 = GPS antenna)...so unless you're using Star diagnostic tools (which gives you the part designation), you need the list of components... And the StarFinder 2008 (readily available for free online) doesn't cover the W221....)
Hope this helps, but be prepared for several hours of downloading and unzipping... You will however get all models and an offline version of StarFinder 2015...
Regards... Mark
PS... Any advice on how to properly install the download would be useful...Thanks

You're Welcome. Don't recall if I mentioned this, but my LED failed because the Sharkfin, GPS antenna on the roof was loose and allowed water to drip on the LED display. So check that too. Sealed mine with some chalk. My guess is, even a few drops of water at a car wash can short it out.... Regards....Mark...

To answer your questions about StarFinder, that was discontinued locally and went exclusively online several years ago. Some have crawled the secured URL and attempted to archive and host it, but it does not typically work very smoothly.
The VeDoc/FDOK is the history of your vehicle as gas as Daimler is concerned. It has the original control modules, their serial numbers, SCN codes, and if they were changed and when and by who. If you want to see it, PM me your VIN.
Also, the seatbelt chine is different on Mercedes-Benz cars as it does not start until after the engine is started. Others start when the ignition is turned on. If your seat belt is on, it silences it either way.
