Yes car has 65,000 with all maitenance records. No issues with it so far it's not a daily driver. I was looking into Carchex. Thanks for feedback. There were quite a few items replaced at 46,000 by MB as per service records.

I bought the USAA Assurant warranty for my 08. So far it has paid out for a failed power folding mirror motor (~$700), rails, cables and motor for panoramic roof (~$4,000) and some seal and plug that was seeping oil (~$300).
They have yet to refuse a claim and they are relatively quick on decisions. There is no deductible.
Highly recommended.

I bought the assurant warranty through carchex since I don't have USAA. Dropped off the car today to have some work done, will know tomorrow exactly what is covered/isn't covered. Fingers are crossed.

Update from the dealer:
Engine mounts - $1,187
Dynamic seat bladder - $1,440
Front sway bar bushings - $355
Lower control arm - $785
Total - $3,767
Not including the ridiculous $3,207 estimate to fix the auto up/down seatbelt on the driver side as there is a broken tab on the seat frame and they want to adjust the whole thing.
Dealer reached out to Assurant and is awaiting approval for the repairs. Fingers crossed that everything is covered but not too worried if the dynamic seat is left out.

Paid $5,100 which is probably a bit more than others given I'm not a USAA member but seems to be worth it, pending the decision they're currently making on my repairs.

Warranty
I paid $6100, for Carchex Titanium exclusionary plan. 3 years 37k and they will still cover with my 20 inch AMG wheels (which are not stock) all electronics, suspensions etc. only things not covered are wear and tear items and exhaust. Also plan pay will pay up to NADA value of vehicle per incident. This is with $100 detuctable. $500 detectable would bring it down to $4600. It certainly is not cheap but piece of mind.
Mine was from Assurant but sold to me through Carchex, labeled as the "Premium" plan. Exclusionary coverage for 3 years and 30k miles on a 2008 s550 4matic with 60k miles.

I paid about $3300 for my exclusionary policy I bought through my credit union. Covers me for 7 yrs/75k miles, $100 deductible. So far in 20 months, they have paid out over $11k in claims without blinking an eye. I haven't had a claim since Feb, so I'm waiting for the other shoe to fall.

Carchex Titanium plan, 3 yrs/30k miles (was on my 09 CLS63) 4300 with 100 deductible. I opted for the no interest pymts of $180/month for 24 months.
They paid out about $6k in the 2.5 yrs I had it.

I cannot find a single credit union in CA that will cover s class, let alone for that kind of a steal price.

Yeah no one will match Dave's deal.
It is weird how Carchex/Assurant pricing is. Around $4K pricing for titanium/hi tech pricing for myself with a 2007 S600 at 30K miles.
I'm more interested in how they (recent post) reconcile it with the dealer. When I had mine in they needed to inspect the thing.

Click on the following link. If you or an immediate family member (parent, sibling, child, grandparent....or cousin...I think) work for one of the companies on the list, you'd be eligible to join Baxter Credit Union and then purchase the same warranty that I have. If the family member works for one of these companies and are not currently a member of Baxter Credit Union, they would have to join (it's free) first before you could join. At least that's what I was told. Anybody who lives in Northern IL can join Baxter CU without that criteria and get the warranty. Warranty pricing depends on mileage at time of purchase, length & miles wanted, and plan & deductible. Platinum is the only way to go with this plan.

I've tried that for a couple of other people who live out of state. Unfortunately it doesn't work. But if you can find another company who sells the CUNA Mutual Mechanical Repair Policy, then you can get exactly what I have. You can get the Platinum policy (exclusionary) as long as your starting mileage is under 70k. Do a Google search or all credit unions in the Bay area and start calling around to see if they sell the above mentioned policy and if you're eligible to join the credit union.
