Night vision requires the cameras, special headlamps and coding. Might need the cluster too. Probably not worth the hassle. I had it and aside from a handful of times to impress passengers.

I have it. It's only a distraction as you have to look down and away from the road to use it. Gimmicky and not very effective. It might be better if it was incorporated as part of a heads-up display.

You will need the proper windshield, control module, headlights, headlamp switch, and version coding and associated wiring harnesses. Unless you are familiar with these types of things, I would not recommend it.

I have done a few retrofits on MBs:
2004 C230 - Factory Navigation
2008 C300 - Factory Navigation and split folding seats
2012 E350 - split folding seats
2012 S350 - Factory Fridge

I looked into retrofitting the Night Vision for my S350 and there were a number of parts to purchase including the windshield with the appropriate camera options installed, the headlights with IR projector option, control modules, headlight switch, the wiring harnesses, which even the parts you can get used were kinda expensive. Then you have to figure out how to get someone to program it to enable the Night Vision option on you car - tough sale to dealers as they typically will not turn on Options that your car was not originally delivered with - due to liability concerns. you will need to get to someone who has a DAS/XENTRY terminal, who also has the Developer's Mode, and knows how to use it to turn on options.

So my back-up plan is to purchase and install a new FLIR camera within my Grille and run the video to the auxiliary inputs for video on command. The FLIR has way, way better optics than MB night Vision for the 2012, and probably the latest version. I have not pulled the trigger on it yet as I need to get another warranty on my car if I keep it.

I can get you setup with a front camera that comes on automatically below 3 mph. Did it on mine and it's saved me 10 times now.

Front-facing camera

Hello,
Did anyone install the front-facing camera mod that Jason B is offering?
I would like to try it, bur not sure if it is within my abilities.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
