2011 Mercedes S550
Need Feedback Please
YES! I already know there are about 1,297,865 threads about this but there appears to be so many mixed reviews about this. Can someone that has the same model and set up as me please chime in if yo have done it? Please and thank you!
I have a 2011 Mercedes S550 W221 so N/A NOT BiTurbo! I want the deeper sound and was planning on ordering the MEC Design Earthquake exhaust but its $2,100 shipped from MEC in Germany. OUCH!
I see a lot of videos and sound clips about either a muffler or resonator delete.
SO the million dollar question is what gives the best deep V8 Growl? Muffler Delete or Resonator delete and X Pipe? I think by deleting both it would not sound right from what I understand.
Please just positive feedback. thanks!

I did my 2010, replacing the stock mufflers with a Becker kit. There were no factory resonators. It was straight pipe on each side to an X pipe, then straight over the rear axle to each (large) muffler.
The Becker's are about 1/4 the size of OEM and they were WAY too loud. We ADDED two inline glass packs where the X pipe was and then it sounded perfect. Low rumble at idle, deep roar when you got into the throttle, low hum at highway speeds.
The Becker kit required either an S63 rear bumper or clone to accommodate the quad tips. There's a thread around here somewhere with sound clips from my car.

Thanks!
Where did you get your Becker exhaust from andhow much? I have the 2011 year and I have a large resonator right in front of the rear axle. So I assume I would have to remove that and place an x pipe there.
Before you addedthe resonators was it was it still a deep sound but just loud? Or did the resonators help add the deep sound? I can't find any sound clips unfortunately

I'd leave the resonator and replace the mufflers with something more aggressive like the ones you mentioned. If that's not enough you can always go back in and take out the resonator as well. The kit was from EBay, around $700. Plus you need to change out the rear bumper.
The thread was "thoughts on Becker exhaust" or something similar.
