S550 (W221) 2007 Wiered Behaviour
Dear All Gurus,
I am having Merc S 550 2007 (75K Km), I parked the car for about 3 weeks and once I came back I am having issues with the Car since then and tey are very weired one's
a. It started giving me the message " Take the Car to Workshop without shifting Gears"
b. ESP Non Operative
c. Headlights Non Operative etc etc
d. Battery
e. Run Flat inoperative
The car got start but after 10 secs used to go off, I could figure out that the car's main battery is some how not performing well, therefore I changed the battery and then took to the workshop to clear all the codes and all the errors were erased and car was ok
Now whenever I go and start the car it is showing a RED message " Take the Car to Workshop without shifting Gears" and goes off after 2 secs and don't show up at all after that.
I again got the car checked and there are no errors at all.
What possibly could be the cause of this issue

All of the above mentioned issues did sound like an Aux battery issue. The fact that those errors haven't returned after replacing that battery seems to verify that.
My guess regarding the shift message would be possibly something wrong with the shift buttons on the back of the steering wheel. They may be sticking or there could be some dirt on the sensor/connection. If the message always goes off after a couple of seconds, then you may want to try shifting with those buttons to make sure they are working OK. The dealer may need to clear the code that throws that message if everything seems to be working. Not all codes can be read by a basic OBD2 scanner. STAR should find other codes that you cannot. It sounds like another trip to the dealer may be in order.
