Headrest won't go up/down

MBWorld

I have a 07 S600 and when hitting the button on the command center to lower the rear headrest, they won't lower. I do have dynamic seating where the headrest should raise when I fasten the seat-belt, that doesn't work either, however, I'm able to raise/lower the headrest manually from the controls on the door. I've done some research that mentions it could be a fuse but I'm not sure how/where to check for this fuse and what other things I can try before taking it in for what I assume will be a hefty priced repair. Any guidance/assistance with this issue is greatly appreciate; Let me know if there's anything you need to help in resolving this issue.

Thanks

Have you seen this error before; is there a DIY option to resolve this issue?

You can check 143 at rear fuse panel if fine, long shot pull for several minutes in an attempt to reset. If this fails most common fix someone may need to reset using MB DAS (diagnostic system).

Ok, maybe I'm still recovering from Thanksgiving drinking but how do you access the fuse box in the rear? The instructions say simply 'pull' in direction of arrow but the access hatch doesn't budge. Will a screwdriver or another tool work without breaking this hatch?

Thanks konigstiger, I was able to 'finally' open up the rear fuse compartment, checked the fuses and they look good.

I doubt that locating the problem is a DIY. Although the headrest motor is located behind the front of the seat---the circuit to actuate the motor is switch-door control module-seat control module---motor

Forget the rear SAM as the door control module is protected by fuse 43 in the front SAM------now the issue is what's faulty----you tell me without an MB DAS Xentry quick scan, however I guess you can wait and listen to all the bla bla, but I would head to the dealership and fix the issue!!

Rear SAM: http://workshop-manuals.com/mercedes...on/page_11235/ + next pages, also see attachment.

Since fuse seems fine and pulling doesn’t help, best bet is to have someone check it with MB DAS again, may be as simple as reset.
